Okay, so now the Kirk poll is underway let's talk Picard. What's your favourite moment with the Enterprise-D captain?

"They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again - the line must be drawn here! This far, no further! I will make them pay for what they've done!"

Absolutely brilliant. :)

I'm gonna go for him palming the control rod at the end of Starship Mine - causing the escaping baddies to go kaboom. Beautifully cold blooded on Picards part.

From Insurrection:

"How many people does it take, admiral, before it becomes wrong? 1,000? 50,000? 1,000,000? How many people does it take?!"

Either that, or when he removes his rank pips.

Some of those movie lines are great, no doubt. I'll add another: his Chain of Command performance (notable as a Patrick Stewart performance, but not too bad for Picard the character either for showing off his strength of will). There...are...FOUR...lights!!! His return from the Borg experience fits into the same category.

Possibly not a glamorous choice, but I always enjoy watching him give Admiral Jarok a good talking down to, and convincing him to betray his people. Something I'm not sure any of the other captains would have been able to pull off.

Also, as much as I love the "line must be drawn here" bit in First Contact, I'm not sure it ranks as one of his best moments. He was about to let his personal feelings get his ship destroyed and everyone killed. Even Worf knew he was acting irrationally.

Some great points, but I have to go out on a limb with this one... either "The Inner Light" or him laughing as he sees the knife protrude from his chest in "Tapestry."

Nice. I hadn't recalled those, Mikey.

Nemesis: "You have the bridge... Mr Troi"

Good to see him taking the pi*s out of Riker.

Nemesis: Best Man speech, "Mr. Troi" or the Argo excursion--nice to see him having a little fun as things changed
Naturally, his speech in FC and i really liked, his little mutiny in Insurrection.
Any of the aforementioned moments from the series.

My favourite picard moment is probablly when he asks Q for help in "Q Who?"

can't remember the speech accurately but it was a great moment with the borg bearing down on them.

"If we all die, here and now, you will never be able to gloat. You wanted to frighten us, we're frightened. You wanted to show that we are inadequate, for the moment I will grant that. You want me to say that I need you. Right now, I need you."
