Any Journey Fans here?

Post by Zanarkand »

The new Journey album is out today. Are you a fan or not? I have been a fan since 1981. I have all the albums, videos. But oddly enough, I have never been to a concert.
Anyhow, the new album "Revelation" is out today, with the new lead singer Arnel Pineda. It is a 3 disc set, 1 is a DVD of a concert from March of 08. The second is a CD of the greatest hits
with the new singer doing them all. The 3rd is the new album Revelation. Only available thru Wal-Mart. The stores, Sams Club, wal mart.com.

A casual fan. I'll listen if they're on the radio.

My wife and I made "Faithfully" Our Song. Awesome band. I didn't know they made a new album, either. I'll have to check it out.

Steve Perry and the group split in 1997 or 98. Steve is happily retired in Southern California.
After the split, the group hired Steve Augeri, a Perry sound alike. Together they made 3 albums:

1.Arrival (2001)
2.Red 13 (2002)
3. Generations (2005) Medical reasons have caused Mr. Augeri to retire early.
One wanting the album but not wanting to go to Wal-mart (understandable. Those places give many people the creeps...)
can purchase downloads at Wal-mart.com, they claim these are Ipod compatible.

Sound alike?! Steve Augeri is a voice-clone of Steve Perry. Just by casual listening, you wouldn't know that it WASN'T Perry.

Personally, I liked Steve Augeri. But his vocal cords were not up to more singing. Sadly.

Really great singing takes as much or more effort than playing an instrument; after years of touring, playing hundreds or thousands of shows, everybody wears out, especially if they prefer challenging vocal parts.

My favorite song's probably 'Wheel in the Sky', or 'Separate Ways'.
