An amusing little simulator I found

Make your own solar system.
I found this a while ago, and have been amusing myself with it for a while. It's surprisingly hard to get a stable two planet system going.

Click on the 4 bodies option, then have a look at what happens with the default settings. Why the $%&@ don't we have a planet orbitting like that in our solar system? It would be so cool!

Nifty little thing, albeit I can see it being somewhat addictive.

Very cute. It's a good illustration for folks who don't get gravimetric telescopy.
And yeah, with every integer available for those position variables, I could see this sucking up a LOT of time.

Well this is wicked!

Hey, I got a planet(about the size they used for moons) to orbit both stars in a binary system. No way it would be habitable, but I think it's good for someone who's just guessing right now.

Very fun and very cool.

If you find anything interesting, like getting a planet to orbit in a ternary system, cut and paste the inputs so we can have a look as well!

I think I'm addicted!

he..he he he...he...he he he he... he he...he...he he he...he he....he he
(my position on this thing is obvious considering i've destroyed 6 planets in 4 minutes XD)

Some of the presets are pretty cool, but I prefer messing with the planets and suns myself. 8)

This is cool. I got one of the planets to orbit in a 5 point star pattern! Try this:
Bodies: 4 Mass...............Position...............Velocity
..........................................x.......y...............x.......y
...............(1)(200)..............(0).....(0)............(0).....(-1)
...............(2)..(10)............(100)...(0)............(0)...(140)
...............(3)(.001)............(.25)...(0)............(0).....(74)
...............(4)....(1)............(-84)...(0)............(0)...(120)
For a 7 point star, change the x velocity on body 4 to 50!

Sure those numbers are right? All I keep getting is a bunch of explosions the moment I hit start.

Leave it to Rochey to find the exterminatus array on a solar system simulator.

It doesn't recognize .25 under the x position. I've tried several varients to see if there was a typo, but they tend to lose planets quickly, or result in unstable orbits no matter what variations I try.
