I watched all three seasons of the original Penny Dreadful series, and I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it if you are looking for something innovative and fun.

I can't speak for this new 'sequel' or 'spin-off', but the trailers look interesting and the cast is excellent.

For the Trek fans, Brent Spiner appears in the upcoming series.

For the Game of Thrones fans, Natalie Dormer is the lead female.

Looking forward to it, and hope it is worth jamming it into my Sunday night lineup.

Well, so much for that.

I can't put my finger on what exactly turned me off about this show, so likely it was many things at once.

I watched the first episode and thought 'Huh? This doesn't appear to be much akin to the previous Penny Dreadful that was so outstanding". After pondering it over the next episode, I attempted episode 2 and was put off almost immediately.

So it goes with new shows. Some are winners and some are..meh!
