First threat of the month layed against me. Fun times, I must be slipping since I didn't get one last month.

Against your health, life, job, or property?

In that case I'd check his blog and see if he's been having suicidal thoughts recently.

Well, today I spent a day working on a guys computer... I spent 8 hours on it... and got nowhere... I am now going to reformat it for like the fifth time and just start from scratch... For the third time on this computer...
It's a friend so I don't mind doing it... but still, I hope I get good pay for this.
I hate Microsoft.

What's the problem, exactly?

He got a virus, so he went to a restore point, all well and good, the computer booted, and then he logged in, and it instantly logged him out.
After I did a full format of the drive and then reinstalled Windows on it, then it states that some of the dlls are missing, so I tried to do a repair from the disc... It worked until it tries to boot up where it fails to boot.
So now I'm going to do another full format tomorrow and I will try to reinstall XP and if that doesnt work then I'll try using a different Hard Drive and see if that is the problem... If not then it's in the cd, in which case I'll use another CD of XP I have to install it as a completely different install without using the other CD and see if that helps any.
If not then I have no idea what to do.

Sounds like you've got the tedious procedure down pat. Good deal.

Why is it that regardless of how intelligent and educated mothers are, they all wind up resorting to the guilt trip to get you to visit? If Dad is fine with me not coming out to visit then thats whats important.
At least his surgery went well and his arse contains less cancer.
