Can't you sue them for that, since she is your child and you weren't deemed dangerous therefore they can't say you can't come near your own kids.

At the moment they have full legal guardianship which means I have no parental rights at all. Sure, I can take them to court......but I won't make ANY of their birthdays this year thanks to the legal system.

So they're ruining the kid's birthday in order to get back at you? Great parenting. That explains a lot about your ex.

Why do they have full guardian-ship?

Mark, no offense or anything, but your in-laws are complete scumbags. She's your kid - surely you can take them to court to get visitation rights at the very least? I know it won't be quick, but you can't let them get away with that.

I'd think missing one birthday, and I can imagine that is unbelievably hard, is worth it to get access to them in further occasions.

Nick--back in my drug days I did some irresponsible things and my kids went to live with them. Then, because they've got ALOT of money, they fought and won guardianship of the kids.

Rochey--Fear not. I have not yet begun to fight. I have signed up for prepaid legal services who will assist me in filling for visitation rights.

Little Bro--You are right....but it's a big one....she turns ten. :x

Has anyone noticed the schmuck in the other thread who had all the kiddie porn gets better visitation than ME?

-sigh- It's fucking annoying when you see the high and mighty justice going up the sh*tter.

turning 10 is a biggun to miss. But think about it, you can be there when she hits high school age. I know its a shit thing to have to miss, any birthday is. But I guess you just gotta get what you can get.

I hope she's fully aware that her grandparents are the reason why her father isn't at her birthday party.

She is. It was pretty spiteful IMO, but I explained to her that grandma wouldn't let me come.
