I hate that parents constantly try and get kids to cozy up to others. All I can remember that's been caused by that is pain. My best friend moved when I was 10, I contact her, but I don't know her anymore, and it's because she moved, not even that far, but it hurts so bad to think about, and another good friend when I was 14 and him I don't even know where I would find him, haven't found him on facebook or anything yet, and just today another friend moved down to Maryland, and I got close to her 2 semesters ago, and now I probably won't see her again, and probably won't even hear from her in a long time if ever, and I've gotten extremely close to another girl and I know that she'll be moving in a year to go to another college. So all I've learned from meeting new people and being friendly is friends can only be friends for so long. I hate life right now. :madashell:

Dont ever work on ships then, you live, work, drink, and travel the world with some people for 6 months, become really close, then one of you leave and never see each other again.

That, sounds like hell, I'll take your advice on that one.

Most friends are temporary; a few are lifers, if you're lucky. All I've really got anymore are my few lifetime friends; people I've known for 15-19 years, and will continue to be in close contact with until we're all dead.

I honestly sympathize, Nick... but if you're sour on building relationships right now, well - look at the alternative.

I have none. All friends from childhood moved away while I was in bootcamp in the Navy.

Yeah also military would be out of the question for you. The military is like high school all over again. You meet new friends and then either you or the friends get out and go home or transfer to a different state.

At least nowadays you can stay in contact on Facebook now.

Yeah, as much as facebook is really nice for keeping in touch, I really really like personal contact, hugs and the such do wonders for me.

Naturally of course. I was just talking about friends who moved away that you can't visit them all the time. Just because they live away means you no longer can't be friends right?

Oh, yes, of course, no doubt about that. It just, bothers me... I seem to be overly sensitive about this lately.

Well, honesty is a shitty policy, if you decide to tell someone the truth, damn well prepare to be bit in the ass by everything you say, I learned my lesson. :grave:

It's not a shitty policy, though it may feel like it. What it does in reality is help you separate the wheat from the chaff.

Sadly, sometimes the wheat is very bound to the chaff and doesn't want to come off of it.

Don't I know it. But you can't live your life holding your tongue and walking on eggshells simply because the people around you don't want to hear the truth.

Very true as well. Some people need to chill, I need to do something violent to take my mind off my inability to help.
