Blackstar, are you unaware that the suffix 'taur' is related to the adjective 'taurine' which in turn describes something resembling a bull? After all, isn't that why the bull on the Zodiac is reffered to as 'Taurus'?
Are you further unaware of the fact that the noun 'Centaur' does not come from the word 'taur', but from the Greek word kéntauros?

Was that a smack down I see?
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

It is not your right to make us believe it was a smack down?
There is not a problem in this world that can't be solved without the proper application of a sufficient number of thermonuclear ordnance.

Are you unaware that things have changed in the past few hundred years, and that slang doesn't always follow the original meaning?Rochey wrote:Blackstar, are you unaware that the suffix 'taur' is related to the adjective 'taurine' which in turn describes something resembling a bull? Are you unaware that this is irrelevant, as the meaning of the word is still the same? Should it really be our concern if a group of people screwed up on their understanding of a suffix? And does it not also prove that Dusk need not know what a taur, as you incorrectly define it, is?

Wasn't Dusk asking what a taur was, in the context I was using it?Are you unaware that this is irrelevant, as the meaning of the word is still the same? Did you know that I agree with your first question in some instances? And that, along the same line of thinking, Occidental and Oriental are quite offensive terms?Rochey wrote:Are you unaware that this is irrelevant, as the meaning of the word is still the same? Did you not realise that I was pointing out your erroneous assumption that 'taur' meant 'four-legged'?Blackstar wrote:Wasn't Dusk asking what a taur was, in the context I was using it?Wasn't Dusk asking what a taur was, in the context I was using it?Are you unaware that this is irrelevant, as the meaning of the word is still the same? Why are you assuming that I assumed that taur meant 'four-legged'? Didn't you know that in the furry subculture taur refers specifically to fursonas with a centauroid appearance?Rochey wrote:Did you not realise that I was pointing out your erroneous assumption that 'taur' meant 'four-legged'?Blackstar wrote:Wasn't Dusk asking what a taur was, in the context I was using it?Wasn't Dusk asking what a taur was, in the context I was using it?Are you unaware that this is irrelevant, as the meaning of the word is still the same? Did it not occur that furry subculture is not exactly mainstream and known to everyone?

But how else would one refer to a taur-form then as a taur?Reliant121 wrote:Did it not occur that furry subculture is not exactly mainstream and known to everyone?

As a "Centaur-like species" perhaps? Or some other similar description that doesn't require detailed knowledge of furry-specific slang?ChakatBlackstar wrote:But how else would one refer to a taur-form then as a taur?

But isn't taur shorter, faster, and simpler? After all, isn't the first thing that comes to mind when someone says taur, Centaur?Captain Seafort wrote:As a "Centaur-like species" perhaps?
