Now, for my new and personal rant.

There is a guy that works in my office (an ex army combat vet who was injured in action....sort of) that needs pain pills. Fine, I take them too. The problem is, he sits right at his desk, crushes them up, chops them into lines, and snorts them three feet away from me.

I tried talking to him and asking him to knock it off (or at least go to the bathroom and do it) but he doesn't. I told him about my former drug problem and that it makes me unconfortable to see, so his concession his putting them in a little snuff tin till he's ready to take a snort.

I went to management.....and was told "I didn't know what I was talking about, and that I've got a problem with getting into other peoples business." They called him in to ask about it, and he said that he's got "an occasional hyperactive gag reflex" which they've bought.

Now, he has permission from management (in direct contridiction to the employee handbook drug policy), to take his medication as needed, which apparently is with a straw.

News flash - pain management isn't the foremost of that guy's problems.

Yeah. I'd say sadism is right up there, too.

Isn't it illegal to take drugs that way, since they no longer have beneficial effect and are being taken with the express purpose to get high? As in, can't you just call the cops?

Says who? This is ridiculous - if anything, taking drugs this way would decrease the delay in effectiveness, perhaps at the expense of duration.

I looked it up. It is clearly classified as abuse.

Oh, I didn't say he wasn't abusing his meds. All I said was that in addition to whatever else comes of it, the drugs would also work somewhat as intended.

Taking a handfull of Vics and a handfull of Percs, crushing them, mixing them, and then snorting them is abuse....trust me

But every damned time he does it, my palms start to sweat.

Believe or not, I (of all people) have no use for Percocet. Doesn't help a bit with my pain, and makes me feel awful. Not at all like the little red ones I used to take.

For fucks sake. People getting pissed about spoilers in a thread dedicated to a WEBCOMIC. Said people are of course already on the internet. Said webcomic is located on the internet. All they have to do is take 5 to 10 seconds depending on their connection speed to just pop over to the comic and read up before going into the thread about said comic. Modern web browsers with tabbed browsing make this even easier as you can review the comic in another tab then flip back to the tab with the discussion in it. And people are bitching about spoilers.

This isn't a book or a movie or a game that would require paying for the material then spending a few hours going through it. It's a webcomic, for free, on the same internet the forum is on. At this point all spoilers are doing is accommodating some sorry fucks complete and utter laziness.
