I am rather fond of the design of the Steamrunner class, myself. Not MY first choice for a ship, but certainly not my last either.

They initially put the Doctor's modified nanoprobes in PTs in Scorpion, but in later 8472 episodes they modified hand phasers to fire them.

that's right, but regardless, what was the bs excuse for putting them in the weapon when the bio-tech used by 8472 was resistant?

The doctor managed to modifie them, that was kind of the main plot point of the whole episode.

It's been a long time since I've watched Voyager.

Is it just me or does it seem rather dumb that the Doctor is able to modify the nano-probs when the borg, who use them and undertand them better couldn't?

Not really. The Borg have been shown to be utterly hopeless in terms of thinking up new things. Hell, after months of getting their asses kicked by 8472, they still couldn't figure out a better strategy than "fly Cubes at enemy ships slowly, broadcast standard message, get killed".
