Re: The Last Jedi - spoileriffic thread
That Finn engineer thing was so weird. Didn't that whole side mission of theirs take like ten hours of screen time, total? And in that time she went from thinking he was a coward and a traitor to being in love with him? WTF? I actually laughed out loud at that.
Not to mention that "We won't win by destroying the things we hate, but by protecting the things we love" live was dumb. He was trying to do that! You stopped him!

Thank you! Almost none of my friends that saw the movie were bothered by this.Graham Kennedy wrote:That Finn engineer thing was so weird. Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

I didn't lol, but I did squint at that because I was as confused as Finn was when she kissed him.Graham Kennedy wrote:That Finn engineer thing was so weird. Actually, Johnson responded to critics of that previously-unseen Force power. In reality, it came from a source book many years ago, so that ability already existed in the SW tableau.

I hate Rose so damned much, and yes. That whole "Save the things we love!" bullshit is one of them. Another is that anti-rich message shoved into the film about as awkwardly as you can get at Canto Bight.

I had to smile at how pleased Finn was that they trashed the Casino. And how happy Rose was to have freed the animals.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:I hate Rose so damned much, and yes. I mean, there were Human slaves being held there. But freeing the animals, that was the important thing.
Of course, that means that all that damage is going to end up being cleaned up by the slaves. So I guess it's a good thing that they didn't try to free them - those little guys have a lot of extra work to do now!

Not to mention those animals... are probably just gonna be caught again. Or killed. or die out in the wilderness.Graham Kennedy wrote:I had to smile at how pleased Finn was that they trashed the Casino. I don't think the video was created out of hate. Plus when they were playing with the lightsaber in the movie, I thought for sure that one doing the sniffing was going to get skewered.Graham Kennedy wrote:I don't get the Porg hate. Cute little buggers.

They're annoying little things that add nothing whatsoever to the movie.Graham Kennedy wrote:I don't get the Porg hate. Cute little buggers.

I disagree. They're cute and funny and they add lightness and silliness to the film, both of which I appreciated.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:They're annoying little things that add nothing whatsoever to the movie.Graham Kennedy wrote:I don't get the Porg hate. Cute little buggers.
I think the Falcon should have a little family of like two dozen Porgs on board from now on. They do nothing whatsoever except add a few cute scenes to every movie.
