A competent bad guy with a toothpick would rule the AQ in a month... we can't have our hero's all dying by splinters...

Even Sorin from Generations was a better bad guy IMO, he was delusional for a reason. Shinzon had never seen Earth, Earth had done nothing wrong to him yet that is his big target, it just doesn't make any sense. That and the fact that he built the uber fanboi ship...

Thats just because Shitson had to do something that might make the movie worth watching...

We can't have them showing a Romulan civil war or maybe even a break out war between the UFP and the RSE...

How could the two top powers not get along.......... :bangwall:

That would have allowed for many more cool fights than what was in Nemesis, too. Maybe a chance to see some of the newer ship classes in action again, with the E leading the charge (which also would have been great because we didn't get to see her in any DW fleet actions).

The problem with Shinzon being written as a competant villain is that it's litteraly impossible to do in that film.
Basicaly the entire film revolves around his various idiocies. If we were to make him smart, there'd be no film!

You wouldnt have been able to do that exact movie but you could use some basic ideas from it.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

But there could have been efforts made to characterize Shinzon; Soran (sic) was a better villain because he was sympathetic. Not that he was ever portrayed to be in the right, but because the seeds of his "villain-ness" were portrayed in a real-world, understandable manner.

Well Soran had motivation, he wanted to get back to the Nexus, from what we were told and shown that is understandable, plus his plan would actually result in him reaching his goal. Shinzon though, he builds the fanboi deluxe, kills the Romulan Government, leads his slaves to take over, all so he can hurt the feds? what does that have to do with his Romulan Masters from the mines....

Quite true - even Guinan admitted that she would have done anything to go back there.

Why didn't Shinzon have any hair? We saw Picard still had hair at that age.

Why didn't Shinzon have any hair?
Why did he look like an feminine male model?
