I can just see it now. A six page essay detailing the pros and cons of Multi Vector Assault Mode.

Actually, come to think of it, some kids could benifet quite a bit from some of the science and history that gets argued around here

Indeed. And "Teaching for the 21st century" is all about this sort of crap (using website and computer interaction)

Had a kid try to hit me today. He failed, part because he wasn't really commited to the action, part because I shoved him into a wall. I gave him a nice talk down (funny since he's taller then I am) in front of his class mates and friends. To which he acted tough for about thirty seconds. Then he was about as tough and manly as a new born pup.

The absolutely worst way to try and throw a punch. If you can't throw a punch like you mean it, don't throw it at all.

Indeed. Because the other guy will hit you back as hard as he can.

Man, what is it about this site and teachers? Just how many of them have we got at this point?

Did anyone need to read further than this to have a pretty good idea of the outcome?

Hard to say. Kinda funny though.

Very true, though in his defense. If he had been commited to hitting me, I would have committed him to the health room wheel chair. He may have seen this coming and changed his mind in mid swing. Or he's just a pussy.

That your record of suffering fools gladly is less than stellar. :)

I have to bite my tongue every time I go to the pet store. There is always someone in there buying a fish bowl and a betta and I have never, NEVER heard the employees there even once suggest getting a filter or a heater for the poor thing.

That's because the employees are as clueless as the customers. They take the idea "bettas can survive well enough in a simple little bowl" to mean "bettas should be kept in a simple little bowl."

They're tough as nails but putting a betta in a bowl like that is like stripping someone naked and sitting them in a room with the AC cranked all the way down and a car's exhaust being fed into it.

I know not everyone is like me and going to spend almost $150 on a tank for a betta and a couple platys but come on. You can get a 10w heater for like $15 and a decent little filter for the same. The store makes more money and the fish has a fighting chance.

That would be a fighting fish with a fighting chance ;)

So today, I felt like crap and because of that, I didn't go swimming. Which made the 2 girls who were there today very happy... since neither remembered their makeup....

But whatever, had fun convos with the two of them...
