Mir happily accepted the shotgun. "Very nice," he says at the enlarged ammo drum. "Thank you Sister," he says, doing he best to not check out the new girl, too obviously. Turning back to Cyrine he asks, "I don't suppose there's a chapel in here, somewhere to pray? At the moment I'm feeling the need to pretty badly."

The mechanic nodded and turned away in silence. Her steps faultered a moment at Mir's question, then sped up as she left the room quickly. Cyrine's face drew tight. "There...was," she said in a growl. "It is no longer fit for any loyal sevant of the Emporer to enter though."

Mir feigned stupification. Inside he was screaming 'Jackpot!' "What do you mean?"

Cyrine's eyes were filled with the promise of pain and violence as she stared not quite at Mir, but just off to the side of him. "Someone...something desecrated the chapel, with profane symbols of Chaos, writ in human blood. We found..." She had to shallow before continuing. "We found the remains of a clergyman, his corpse bone dry."

Mir's face screwed up in disgust he didn't have to feign. "They sucked the blood from him to desecrate the chapel?"

Re: Survival
Buck shivered. The space ahead was small. Good for fighting one on one. Bad because it was small, and dark. Dark is always a bad thing. After taking his belly's fill of the Ork's body's meat and drink. Buck cut a dozen steaks from the Ork's legs and arms. Food would be needed at some point, no reason to waste something fresh. Buck turned his eyes to the tunnel.Lighthawk wrote:Buck

As the warm xeno blood trickled through his fingers and down his arm, Buck shivered as a chill breeze swept into the room, carrying with it a retching stench. Looking beyond the door, he could see a dimly lit tunnel of stone and brick, a channel filled with some noxious liquid cutting down the middle. A series of filthy steps lead out of the room and down into the muck.
In a slow but steady motion, Buck left the room he had awoken in. Now heading out into yet more unknowns. His weapon braced to his shoulder, his eyes scanning the darkness. With an impressive amount of silence, even more so then his size would normally allow. Buck moved forward. Whispering... "I will gets some more, tro'fees for me!"

"Lovely, so we're sharing this world with chaos cultists as well. I suppose I'll have to find my own quiet nook for prayer then."

Buck

It soon becomes clear, even to the dim-witted Buck, that he has found himself in a sewer system. The underground passages are dank, dark, and smell of all manner of foul and unspeakable things. Filth pours into his boots with every step through the stagnent water that flows sluggishly along the bottom of the tunnels.
Between the dark, the stench, and the steady sloshing of water, Buck is taken by surprise as he rounds a corner, and literally bumps into a pair of ork. The xeno's however seem as surprised as the ogryn, and for a second both groups just stare at the other. Then the orks let out a ringing battle cry as they lift their weapons to the ready.

"We have set aside a few small rooms for quiet contempation," Cyrine informs him. "You could..." The rest of her words are drowned in a bellowing roar that vibrates the very floor under their feet.

The only answer Mir got was the rumble of gunfire through the walls. Cyrine was already a half dozen steps down the hall and running full out for the front of the building.

With the sister's charging out Mir turned and headed the other way, picking through the room to the door he quickly started to look for the chapel.

The doorway to the chapel was nearly impossible to miss. Gilted columns stood to either side of the enterance, and the doors themselves were of a magnificiant darkwood that had been sanded and polished to a nearly mirror like shine. The only thing marring the beauty was a jagged crack running through one door from the handle where the doors had appereantly been forced.

"Well that was easy," Mir muttered. He put his shoulder to the door and shoved it open.

A sense of something foul and wrong washed out over Mir, like a stench or putrid taste he wasn't quite sure was real. It washed over him and was gone in an instant, leaving only a feeling of unease. The room itself did nothing to relieve the feeling. The chapel had been utterly desecrated, anything not nailed down had been tipped over or thrown to the floor, horrific symbols and blasphomous phrases had been scrawled on every availible surface. A bloody rope hung from the ceiling, and below it the cut off end of a noose sat discarded on the floor.
