After some thought about Mark's suggestion with the Orions, I'm going to be instituting a new mechanic to the game. This is on a trial run to see if I like it as the GM and if you like it as the players.

I want to be able to open up the black market, but rather than just assume you can buy it directly from the Orions....they will be intermediaries. So if you want to say purchase antimatter, but don't want people to know you are increasing your stockpiles, you contact the orions who will contact another power for you in search of AM, then purchase it themselves and sell it to the other player with mark-up.

How this will work:

You send a PM to me telling me what you want and if necessary who you want it from. I will then PM that person, or the person I decide to if none are given to approach them about such an offer. I will act as the intermediary basically so that neither of you know for sure who you are talking to.

For the sake of the Game any technology you have will be known by the Orions so that they can make contact, it won't be divulged to players.

the other thing is there is no guarentee of success.....there's always the possibility no one wishes to sell Anti=matter on the black market. Or that the cost plus mark-up is more than you can pay, or finally, there's a low probability that if the technology is a good one the Orions will just run off with it.

I will also allow the Orions to be used for specialty operations, like mercinaries. They could be given missions to cause havok in other nations, or to gain access to technology. Although depending on the mission and the targeted power the odds of success will differ greatly.
