Mir made a show of swallowing his food to buy time. At least one of plans for double crossing the demoness had just gone out the window. Keeping the Sororitas commander Venus away from Solaria was going to be a priority. "When I woke up I was in this little room with my shotgun, sword, and a backpack. This voice said I was in a test, the circles were good, and that was it. Later on when I broke into an armory it got pissed I wasn't looking for the keys for the lockers. Told me to stop then told me I was going to be punished. That's when it sent a chaos marine after me. I haven't heard it since."

Cyrine looked thoughtful as she puzzled over Mir's words. "A test? Yes, that might explain a few things. Ever since we woke up, it's as things had been calculated and balanced just right, enough to push us, hard, but without being able to just run right over us." Her face went a bit pale. "Though, to kidnap several squads of Sisters, as well as who knows how many others like you, and selectively erase all their memories and bring them all...where ever this is. What kind of orginization could have access to such resources and abilities? And to what purpose?"

"I have no idea," Mir said. "Well, I might have a few, none of them pleasant."

Cyrine nodded with a dark expression. "Daemons, creatures of the warp...one of the chaos gods."

"The cog-boys...," Mir said softly.

Cyrine started a bit at this suggestion. "I...well, they would have the matrials certainly, and one can only guess as to what really drives some of them."

"Or some xenos. Who knows what the Tau techno-sorcerers can accomplish. They might want to study us."

"True..." Cyrine said, poking unenthusiastically at her meal. "Bah, who knows? Maybe I'm just having a bad reaction to a hallucinogen grenade." She forced herself to finish her food and shoved the tray away.

Mir scrapped the last bits of food off his plate and swallowed it. "It could be anyone, we've got nothing at all to go on." Mir sighed. "I haven't seen anything that might tell me who's behind this since I got here. If they're smart we never will. They'll have scrubbed this place clean of all clues."

"I can't accept that," Cyrine said. "Nobody is perfect, and something on this scale has to have it's flaws. We will find who is behind this, and bring the Emporer's justice upon them."

"That's a happy thought, the only problem is that if whoever is doing this is smart they won't leave any witnesses. Namely, us."

"They haven't killed us yet. Whoever it is that is responsible, they will regret the choice to bring the Adepta Sororitas into their perverse games. We will discover the guilty party, and they will not long live that discovery."

Mir raised his glass then slammed down the contents. "And I wish you the best of luck Sister."

Cyrine nodded and got to her feet. "Come, lets get you outfitted. Not that I mind your company, but I'd just as soon see this current duty over and done so that I may pursue other tasks."
