I don't see any reason why they'd change that. Though far as I can recall they haven't established it one way or another yet.

http://ex-astris-scientia.org/articles/ ... t.htm#size And now Bernd over at EAS comes out with this. Pick your length.
"All this has happened before --"
"But it doesn't have to happen again. Not if we make up our minds to change. Take a different path. Right here, right now."

Care to cross post the size(s) he came with? The work filter catches EAS but not DITL.

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
He's keeping the length of 300 meters, despite coming up with similar figures to the official ones because he is...bitter, basically. Considering he's got "unrebooted since 1998" at the bottom of his pages, it's safe to say he's pissed.Tyyr wrote:Care to cross post the size(s) he came with? The work filter catches EAS but not DITL.

After getting a look at the shuttle bay and main view screen I don't see any reasonable way to get a length like that.

Hell, just looking at the shuttlebay pic he has there is enough to show that the thing is pretty damn big.

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
There isn't, thats the point. He's taking a stand "against the man" by deciding to keep the 300m length, as if Abrams or Paramount gives two craps what he thinks.Tyyr wrote:After getting a look at the shuttle bay and main view screen I don't see any reasonable way to get a length like that.

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
That's just stupid. I can see bitching about it, asterixing the numbers but...
Well I guess the question is:
Is he actually trying to use math to confirm a 300m length or just saying fuck you it's 300m long no matter what?
If it's number 1, wow. If it's number 2, that's his prerogative.

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
If it's number two, then he'd be better off just ignoring ST:XI completely, and not doing anything on the subject. If he's going to just ignore what the new film shows, then he's simply ignoring canon because he doesn't like it. So what else will he ignore on the basis of not liking it?
I've not checked out EAS in a long time, but isn't their forum one of the handful screaming about how nTrek is the devil incarnate?

He goes with number 2, he admits on his page that 300m doesn't jive:
All this reminds me of the hub-bub over nBSG, when people bitched about Starbuck having TEH BOOBIES, rather then more legitimate complaints about the crap plot, character back stories and Cylon motivations.BS on EAS wrote: But indeed, after further inspection of the various features of the ship, the windows on a 300m alternate Enterprise would be just 50cm tall. The docking ports would measure only 1.5m. This is smaller than on Probert's Enterprise refit, on which parts of the new design, most obviously the saucer, are based.

Well, if he doesn't like it he can not like it. At least he admits the math doesn't support him.

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
His inconsistency page is somewhat... I don't know. A lot of it is bitching about the getting together of the crew.
Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
So he doesn't like the way the world spins, that sucks for him.

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
I read his article. His argument is, "I don't like the size so I'll ignore the only hard evidence we have on its size and use a bunch of personal preference and facts based on totally different universe as to why I'm right."
