Personaly, I think it's time for Trek to die for a while. Since DS9, all we've been getting is crap after crap after crap. Kill it for a while, and then maybe in a few decades someone could give justice to a new series or movie.

I dont think it needs to die. It just needs someone with a clue running it.

I tend to agree with that. It's too bad it didn't just die after DS9.
This is why I really must try to hold judgment on the future of Star Trek as a whole until the next film comes out.

Well, if they are in fact doing a full recon then it might not be too bad. They'll get a chance to fix everything that ENT fucked up.

And there's always the possibility it will be some sort of alternate past timeline created by 24th century Spock or something. Unfortunately, we got enough of this with Star Trek: Voyager.

Technically, Enterprise IS in an alternate timeline. I see it ths way once the Borg traveled back in time, and the E-E followed them, the timeline was polluted. Who knows what kind of effects that had on the past. After all, I'm assuming in the "REAL" timeline, Archer and crew never encountered the Borg. Thus it was in an "alternate" one, that they did.

Interesting idea. I haven't actually seen "Regeneration," so I'll have to check it out at some point.
Is this the main reason some fans consider Enterprise to be an alternate timeline?
How do you explain Riker and Troi in These Are The Voyages? Just that the timeline was different, but not too different.

OR the Borg trying to stop first contact and picard and co. preventing it is as a matter of fact how history remembers it and is the "real" timeline, hense the lack of any real wackiness when picard & co returned. also explains why Dulmer and Lucsly didn't show up. (those were their names yes?)

Lucky man, quite possible the biggest "Fuck you canon" enterprise ever did.

Lucky man, quite possible the biggest "f**k you canon" enterprise ever did.
And yet perhaps the most canon thing they ever did, the Borg Debris from F.C. had to go somewhere...I admire them for trying to tie up the loose end even if they did in a bass ackward manner.

Don't bother. You can spend that hour of your life in far better ways. Seriously, it sucks.
Is this the main reason some fans consider Enterprise to be an alternate timeline?
No. Most people that consider it an alternate time line because it contradicts so damn much of every other series that it being an alternate universe would be the best sollution for rectifying the problems. The Borg bit just gives us a nice explaination of how it happened.

That's pretty much it. It's an alternate, but
very similar, timeline.

Or the entire series was simply a badly researched holonovel loosely based on Archer's Enterprise.
Another possibility is that the reset button at the end of "Storm Front" wiped the first three seasons from history, hence why they differ from established canon.

I still hate jumping through hoops to explain stupid writers.
