Referring to the Maquis in Trek and nothing under Furher Bush.
Depends what you did. "Terrorist" is not something defined under the various conventions governing war, rather it's a term that defines a certain type of criminal. They certainly jailed and intend to keep Bin Ladens driver imprisoned regardless of the courts ruling. And various people have been charged with aiding organisations by supplying money, shelter etc. I'm not sure that just belonging to the organisation gets you anything but usually belonging implies that you are helping in some manner. It's not quite like belonging to the Party in the USSR or the Nazi Party in Germany.

Edit: As for the Maquis, the colonies in the DMZ were refferred to as "Maquis colonies" several times. Implying that the Maquis were their "military" as well as government. It'd be pretty hard to nail Joe civve living there on terrorism charges though, we didn't charge the average Japanese or German citizen as war criminals for residing there after WWII. You'd have to be able to prove they did something.

In Non Sequitur Harry Kim was placed under house arrest simply for speaking with a suspected Maquis member in a bar.

Wow. I'd forgotten about that. Rather Nazi-like of the Federation, wouldn't you say?

I agree. As that review I linked to points out:
Of course, right now his crimes consist of entering a valid access code and speaking to a Federation citizen, so I'm not really sure what that qualifies as. Conspiracy to encourage abbetment, I guess.

Yes
The Terrorism Act, 2000 wrote:11. Membership.- (1) A person commits an offence if he belongs or professes to belong to a proscribed organisation.
...

(3) A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable-
(a)on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years, to a fine or to both

My post has nothing whatever to do with Bush - that quote was from the Terrorism Act, 2000, not any US legislation.

I thought this topic was "Control Panels" or "Panals" as they spelt it and not arguments about terrorism... :worried:
