To wimpy.

This is the pet project of about 5 experts. It should be a hotrod. Runabouts and Danube's are supposed to be mass produced and be able to be used by everyone.

This is a purpose built hotrod shuttle with all the bells and whistles we could put on. I alsothink phase canons could work better than normal canons.

Yeah I guess. I thought they were called cannons for some reason...

Nah, I just got confused for a sec. You said "phase cannons", like the contrived, poorly masked (actually identical) phaser substitutes on Enterprise. I think the Defiant's weapons are called pulse phaser cannons.

So I was thinking whoever opened the doors for the prisoners earlier could send a signal to the pirate base to warn them. Wouldn't be done from the Daystorm of course with the increased security but from the star base. Be interesting if the pirates were expecting us but I thought I'd run it through this first.

Did the prisoners have inside help? I thought they just broke out through skill.

But the idea of them having warning is a good idea. Either through a tip or something else. If would make them a more creadable threat.

Well I guess it was debatable. Either way yeah a warning sent would make them a bigger threat.

How many fighters do on board now we recieved more. I guess we are fitting in as many as possible. Maybe getting rid of the shuttles for this mission and get even for fighters.

Also I'm writting up all relivant information for this mission and am posting it in the mission brief thread.

We have 36 that I know of. But according to DITL stats it can hold 100. So I'd think around that many.

How about 3 wngs of 37 fighters giving us 111 fighters for this mission with Mikeys scout shift and no fighters. If we have 3 Akiras thats 333 fighters... seems a lot. I might increase the numbers of the enemy fleet and Defence platforms.

We need it to be a good fight. The only rules are the Daystrom survive and all our characters unless someone wants to die and start a new character.

The subspace weapons should nail our big ships and the platforms our small ones.

Not sure about how Monroe is gonna handle the land battle. If he wants to call in fighter for air support or not.

So, who's in charge of dealing with the platforms? I wouldn't mind taking a crack at that, if no one minds.

This is the offical brief I'm writting up for this misison. Its not finished yet and needs tweaking but once its done I'll post it in mission brief.

Beta Mission Brief.

Mission: Seek and Destroy the Neutronium Brotherhood.

Environment: Extreme asteroid saturation. Primary base on a small planetoid terraformed into M class conditions. Massive planetary rings due to deflector shields diverting asteroids around planet.

Enemy fleet estimation: Intelligence points to a fairly large amount of ships at the Brotherhoods disposal. These ships have been gathered through blackmail, piracy, corruption and personal property of members.

2 Keldon and 3 Galor class starships. These were acquired close to the end of the Dominion war when a disgruntled Cardassian Commander saw the inevitable defeat and the abuse of the Dominion and disserted with his strike force.

2 Ferengi built D'Kora class ships owned by Narg. The Ferengi financial manager of the Brotherhood.

3 D7 class battleships. Brought from mothballs upgraded with modern tech.

1 Vor'cha class ship. Salvaged from a damaged ship yard during the war.

5 Breen frigates gifted to the Brotherhood from deserters after the war.

Multiple Klingon Bird of Preys brought of the Klingon Defence force as out dated models.

Anywhere from one to three dozen smaller craft ranging in size from fighters to almost Defiant size.

They are also known to deploy Orbital Defence platforms and Subspace weapons.

Alliance fleet make up:

Strike group one, Breaking the enemy line and landing our land army.
1 - Galaxy class - USS Dakota - Flagship
1 - Akira class - No name - Air support
2 - Saber - No name
1 - Defiant - No name
111 - Falcon Class fighter (stats see ships stats top of thread)

Second strike group: Engaging the enemy fleet.

2 - Akira Class - USS Daystrom
1 - Nebula - No name
2 - Defiant - No name
2 - Steamrunner class - No name
1 - Intrepid - No name
222 - Falcon class fighters

Third strike group: Destroy unmanned defences.

1 - Lakota class refit Excelsior
1 - Nebula Class
2 - Saber Class
1 - Intrepid: Freeman
4- New Orleans Class

We have no characters in that group yet. You could make a character to be in that strike group as officer on one of the ships.

You could also take over all command of the strike group but that would limit you to this mission only since you'd be a Captain of the head ship. But I suppose you could do that if you only want in for this mission or create a new guy for the next one.

That sounds good to me. Most of the characters on other ships are going to be one-offs anyways, unless this mission ends with some task force assembled from this fleet.

The only long term characters are the guys on the Daystrom. Anyone else can die unless they are specifically created by someone as a secondary character. We do have a few guys that sho up now and again like other captains and the Starbase Admiral but they arent coming.

The next mission is just going to be the Daystrom into Tholian space to deal with the fall out of this mission.
