This has probably be asked before, but does anyone know where I can get a good free antivirus (and preferably anti-other stuff too) that won't mess up my computer?
Try avast! antivirus. That's what I use, and it's MUCH better than Norton, although I know that's not saying much, but it is free. Just Google avast! with the exclamation mark, you'll find it easy.

AVG was giving me a bunch of problems; I'm not sure I want to mess with it again.

Mine stopped downloading updates for a while, to try and get me to buy the next version, but recently it started again, for some reason.

Well, thank you for the information.
I found Avira, and since it was free I figured why not try it. I did make a backup first (I never trust antivirus programs) though. I am welcome to any thoughts on it, if anyone has used it.
I am also using the free version of Adaware for spyware... so far it has worked well.

I really didn't want to start another thread about it, so...
Why is the US government continuing to bail out the financial companies with over 100billion dollars when the money is just going to pay the CEO's bonuses yet they can't pay the three auto industries who have a plan and whose CEO's are willing to work for $1 annually and who are only asking for less than half of what is being wasted on the financial companies?
