Phebia pulled back with a start, clearly unused to being around a techpriest. "It seems a bit extreme. Not something to be undertaken lightly."

Haxta's smile faded at Phebia's reaction, and she folded her hands together so that the electro-graft was hidden. "It bothers you?"

"It was unexpected is all," Phebia said. "It shouldn't but it did."

"I see," Haxta replied slowly. "And would it bother you to know that parts of my brain are not original material either? Or that I carry a small generator within my chest, strapped to a framework that reenforces my torso?"

"Not particularly. Several of the sister superiors had augmentics. I'm merely not used to seeing one so young with them."

"Ah," Haxta said, a light of understanding coming to her eyes. "You're used to seeing such things as the results of battle. The last hope of the otherwise maimed or crippled."

"I wouldn't put it so negatively but yes in so many words."

"Thank you, Sister. You are a credit to the Adepta," Milo said, rising. He seemed hesitant for a moment, then crouched back down by the Sororitas. "May I be frank?" he asked quietly. She looked at him quizzically and he continued, "I am troubled, Sister, and you are the closest thing around to a priest. I expect to face, in the very near future, what may be called my nemesis... my antithesis. I don't fear death - but I am unsettled by the thought of the possibility of failing in my service the the Throne." Milo looked up at the Sister, shocked at himself for opening up like this to a member of an institution like the Ministorum, and said, "Can you pray for me, Sister? Can you help me follow the Emperor's light?"

"Sorry, I didn't mean..." Haxta stopped, and took a deep breath. "You do not have a problem with augments, but merely find my willing replacement of working and fucntional flesh...unusual?"

"Yes," Phebia agreed. "No apology needed Haxta."

0807, Day Three
The young Sister Famulous looked at Trask for a second, then started with a gasp when he removed his helmet to reveal his sanctioning brand. Instead of berating him however, she merely gave him a questioning look. "Do you see, Sister?" he asked. "The fight to keep my soul in the Emperor's grace isn't a metaphor for me - it's a very literal, everyday fight. And now, I face an enemy which may overcome the tools with which I may persecute the enemies of the Throne."
"I see," said the Sororitas quietly. "Well, no quest for strength in faith should be denied by one such as me:
I feel my bones: the strength
I feel my muscles: the strength
I feel my soul: the strength
I feel the Emperor,
Who grants me grace,
And by his will: strength."
Milo mumbled the words after the Sister, then simply nodded his thanks. As he walked by Haxta and Phebia with a small bit of his old bravado back, he held out his new shotgun to show the tech-priestess. "Skitarii-type, Vanaheim pattern... just like Mom used to make," he said with a wink. He then turned to Phebia, looked back at the Sister Famulous, and simply nodded gravely. He made the sign of the aquila towards the two women, said quietly, "The Emperor protects," and walked off to rejoin the interrogator.

Enrick walked up to his squad. Setting the bolt on his new weapon. "So, wha'cha think? Is it me?"

0813, Day 3 - Milo looked from Enrick down to the heavy stubber and back up. "It definitely has your attitude," he commented with a wry grin.
