Might as well have just left me for what good it did. Appendicitus is horrible. The pain itself is alright and the operation aint that bad its afterward, where you literally cant get up or bend your stomach at all because all the muscle along your stomach has been sliced through. Nasty nasty thing.
Luckily I've never had it...though with my luck it'll happen when I'm in France next summer.

Thanks for the condolences gang. He found out just a short time ago. The docs gave him six months, so of course he ended up ACTUALLY having about six weeks, so he didn't get around to telling most of us.

Watched the fireworks over Pearl Harbor from the Aloha Tower. I dunno..........something special about watching them from there.

Tried my hand at reef fishing for the first time today (I've only lived in Hawaii for 10 years so I was likely about due), and the only thing I caught was somebody's lost fishing pole!!!!

I'm off on two a week cruise to Norway tomorrow. It goes from Southampton in the UK all the way to the most northerly tip of Europe. We cross into the Arctic circle on the way and get 24 hour daylight. Should be interesting...

So, tonight, my left hand went numb for about 15 minutes.

I should probably have that looked at, but I literally have 0$.

You're riding awefully close to us lot down here. And my old man works quite close to the harbour. Enjoy it! My family wants to do a cruise into the Fjords if we had the money.

I tried to make a hotel reservation for my wedding night, and got the weirdest answering machine.

" Hi, this is Manning."

That's it, no beep, no click, no nothing to let you know that you were talking to a machine and not a person. I started talking, and when I got no answer, figured the call had been dropped, so called again.

" Hi, this is Manning."

At which point I realized what was going on. Seriously, this is an acceptable machine message for any business?

Have fun, Ian. :)

ouch, Tsuki. :( Hope nothing's too bad.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I literally can't remember the last time I've had one. Will admit to some... nervousness about it.

Dude, the fact that you left that SOOO wide open kind of makes me think that might be serious. Any history of nerve damage to that hand or bad circulation?

Yeah, I'm totally serious. I didn't even think about it.

Besides breaking my knuckles a few times, no damage to the hand. Could be poor circulation from smoking, but I'm more concerned about diabetes being the problem. Hypoglycemia is right next door to diabetes, and it runs in my family. :?

I'm not sure, but it's possible that neuropathy could result from hypoglycemia as well as from diabetes. Quick test: have you -

a) been constantly extremely thirsty lately, to the point at which you're drinking so much liquids that you can't sleep for pissing so much?
b) lost a lot of weight VERY quickly?
c) noticed any degradation in your eyesight?

All of those are hallmarks of late-onset type-I diabetes. Of course, it's entirely possible that you have a completely unrelated neuralgia, or even just suffered a contusion or sprain which is impinging on the nerve channel and will go away by itself.

Yeah, I can only kinda say yes to a), but that's dehydration from the heat, and drinking too much. Probably just a pinched nerve or some such.

here's hoping everything's alright with Tsuki's hand....because, as I'm sure we all know, typing with one hand is a b***h
