Oh, and now that I think of it.........Dr Holmes is a master diagnostician. Can always get sent to the Daystrom so he can figure out what is up with the Pan Farr thing. One idea.

Lovely. The only PC is an enlisted Master Chief whose the Engineer. Guess it'll be like real life. The NCO will be leading the officers around by the nose
