I dont know the reputation of either.
But i know Renault is terrible. Jeremy clarkson tested a Renault megane and literally took apart the interior in front of the camera.

Funny, I don't know much about Renault.
Pontiac is like a poor-man's Cadillac. It's good, but it could be a lot better. Just like the GCS.

The Le Car didn't do very well over here.

They seem to excel at tiny car manufacture, and because of ridiculously rocketing petrol prices, the small car with itty bitty engine is getting more popular. Hence the Peugeot 107/Citroen C1 becoming so popular.

Tiny cars (or oversized go-karts, if you look at it a different way) are becoming more popular over here for the same reason.

Because it explodes when anything even remotely dangerous touches it.
No no no no no, it ALMOST explodes everytime something touches it.

I have noticed that you are...erm...not the fanatic fan of the Galaxy class.
I think that's the biggest understatement I've heard in a long time.
May I ask why?
Well, there's a lot of reasons. But it all basicaly comes down to "the ship sucks".
Poor exterior design.
Poor interior design.
Massive weakpoints all over the hull.
Ship blows up if the nacelles get scratched.
All weapons can be disabled by a hit to one single area of the ship.
No proper security.
No computer security.
Bridge exposed to enemy weapons fire.
Massive target profile.
Warp core blows up at the drop of a hat.
Terrible use of internal space.
I'm sure there's plenty more, but that's all I can think of for now.

Hmm, I might come up with explanations and/or excuses for some of those things, but I do not think I could turn you into a Galaxy-Lover and I do not think I want to either!
Let's just say, I literally grew up with the Enterprise D as it was the first Star Trek show I watched and I always liked the ship. Granted, it isn't the best design for a military vessel but back in the TNG times, the military part of Starfleet wasn't at the show's focus.

There have been many attempts on this board to explain the various faults of the Galaxy class. Pretty much all of them have failed.

My problem isn't just that it's a poor design for a military vessel, my problem is that it's a poor design for
any type of vessel. Granted, if we assume the Galaxy was designed purely for exploration then some of the problems I listed don't really apply, but the fact that that class was constantly deployed to the front lines in war or emergencies indicates that it was designed at least partialy as a military vessel.

Hey, I've got 210,000 miles on my Pontiac and it runs like a top. Certainly not garage-bait like a French car.

Oh well, this is way too harsh! The french have brought us the croissant, baguette, wine, champagne,...Carla Bruni..
