Huh? What have the Tories got to do with anything?
Conservatives in Canada seems to have the bad reputation regarding social conservatism, which sometimes include views about creationism/science, so I jumped at the wrong conclusion. Honest mistake.

(I honestly don't know how the Conservative party stands in the UK, what it is in favor of, etc...)

generaly regarded as the "middle upper class" group. Always present themselves rather formally so far as I have seen.

Jumping wildly onto this tangent, just what is the stance of the UK's Tories regarding evolution? I can't say I've ever heard them talking about it all that much.

Of course, you never hear anyone talking about it here either, yet we've somehow got a creationist Minister For Science.

Funny to have an actual Ministry of Science, as it seems to be rather... err... I don't know, abstract?

I mean, the responsibilities of scientific development has always been within the portfolio of the Ministry of the Industry in Canada, as it's the private sector who spearhead applicable scientific development. Universities do help progress the fields of Sciences, but that is the perview of the ministry of Education.

I prefer to have a creationist as Science Minister than Minister of Education, IMHO :-)

About the same as their stance on the theory of gravity AFAIK: i.e. there isn't one because it's irrelevant to running a country.

If more political parties took that view then things in the world would go a lot smoother.

Are there any political parties (as opposed to individual idiots) outside theocratic shitholes that don't take that view?

Any political movement has advantage in shaping the general people's mind into their own advantage.

Religious or non-religious. Through lobbies, media, and anything else that can help do a little social engineering.

Well fuck my life because the banks decided they won't process government payrolls for 24-48 hours after they get it. So all of my bills came out and I hit over draft by 40$. So, after they took their times screwing us over they then billed me another 37$ for going over. Of course welfare has (if you're black or mix raced) a required 24 hour turn around. So that means teachers have to wait two days to get paid but welfare suckers can have a fully furnished apartment supplied to them for free in the same time.

I got the phone call and came home to check to see if this was all true and of course it was. So tomorrow the Teacher's Union will file a protest and then we'll spend the next month with black rights groups calling us racist's for not working for free. Because how dare teachers expect to be paid since its not like we really "work" as we were told last year.

Racism is supposed to be wrong but its moments like this, which happens at least once a year, that make me question why I shouldn't hate those who spend their lives living on handouts.

I hate banks, I hate most of the ways they deal their business.

The worst thing is, I work for the financial sector. There is many things I tolerate and understand. Banks aren't one of them. Bloody greedy bastards.

It doesn't help that I'm already a rather hate filled person.
