Until the captain and the med staff finished their own problems and talked over my situation, I'll sit by the sideline and do nothing.

So you're a mother now, Blackstar? If no family will bew found, you should read one of my posts concerning me. I would be revived on a warship, the Caition be brought up on a warship. look at the second post of page 11 of the alfa mission thread,

Why are we constantly picking up random people? We're on a warship!

I guess I am a mother now. If those concerns are brought up, I'll just say I have an empathic bond to her. Besides I love the idea of a taur trying to raise a biped. A bipedal feline learning how to walk from her four-leg adoptive mother could be complicated. I imagine she'll still walk on all fours more often then the normal Caitian even into adulthood.
And this one is going to be regularly seen Rochey, and it wasn't that random. I've always wanted to do a story arc like this, but I've never been able to do it before. I think dealing with a kid could be an interesting challenge for this crew.
Merry Christmas eve eve everyone!

I think geting the kid onto the ship at all is going to be an interesting challenge with the Commander around.

Well that should be interesting should he try to stop the kid from coming along. He would probably get a lecture on how her mother died because of the mission, and how they(the away team) are by extension the reason the child was orphaned and that since it was directly hir fault shi'll be reponsible for the child.
Then a warning about how Chakats always protect those they consider family, especially the kids, no matter the cost, and in some cases to the point where they go semi-feral and will severly injure or kill if necessary(which is saying something for such a peaceful species).
Although that reaction would require an immediate threat to the child's life, like pointing an armed gun at her and threating to kill her or holding her over a cliff. Although the minute the child is out of danger, alive or dead, a Chakat will return to hir normal state of mind. Although I doubt even the Commander would dare go close to causing that reaction.

While I think those are great sentiments to build into a species, I have to say that to stay in character, I for one would have to defend my CO at all costs whether I agree with him or not.

Well, as long as the commander doesn't threaten the child a physical confrontation can be avoided. A 400 pound pissed off felitaur with claws verses a 180 pound biped, even with blades? Now that would be a bloody and brutal fight(and you'd probably lose an antenna). Although a return scene could be like that one scene in Space Cowboys.
---
Captain: Blackstar, what happened to you?
Blacky: I slipped in the shower.
Captain: And what is that?
Blacky: I just had a baby.
Captain: Oh...uh...congratulations?
Captain:*sees beaten up Mikey*Let me guess. You slipped in the shower?
---
Of coarse you could stun me. However you should note that I downloaded Sally into my ship, and if I lose in a physical confrontation she'll probably rescue me and the kid with the transporter. And the commander can't stop me from bringing her back if I return to the ship in my ship, which I still need to name.
These could be some very interesting posts coming up, whichever way you cut it.

That lecture would probably be followed by something along the lines of 'I don't give a damn'.
Then a warning about how Chakats always protect those they consider family, especially the kids, no matter the cost, and in some cases to the point where they go semi-feral and will severly injure or kill if necessary(which is saying something for such a peaceful species).

Well, firstly, assaulting the ship's XO, no matter how much he might deserve it, would probably just ensure you get court-martialed (if you're not already, given the earlier incidents) and thrown off the ship. Or just gunned down by the other members of the away team, whatever happens.
Secondly, I doubt I'd go so far as to actualy threaten the child's life without any reason, but I seriously doubt that I'm going to agree to letting the child on the ship without a very good reason.
Of coarse you could stun me. However you should note that I downloaded Sally into my ship, and if I lose in a physical confrontation she'll probably rescue me and the kid with the transporter.
I was under the impression we were out of transporter range, hence the need for the shuttle?
And the commander can't stop me from bringing her back if I return to the ship in my ship, which I still need to name.
Well, I wouldn't be able to stop you gettting
to the ship, but getting
onto the ship without getting locked in the brig would be a rather different matter.
These could be some very interesting posts coming up, whichever way you cut it.
Indeed, this could go any way from here. I think at this point both of our characters are just looking for an excuse to blow the other's head off.
Any actual confrontation, though, would be likely to go my way, due to having the others on my side. Mikey is still a loyal officer, despite the friendship between you, and Munro seems to be firmly on my side (that's probably because he knows I'm willing to let him away with methods that other officers wouldn't). I'm sure the other redshirts with us wouldn't particularly mind seeing me fragged, but I doubt you could rely on their help that much.
If you
were to try anything, I'd advise doing it while it's just me, you, and a couple of redshirts with us, and while Mikey and Munro and the others are still gone.
