21:45 Day two
Lot stirs in her sleep. Stilled visions flash through her mind. Big, strong, handsome man; safe; fur coat; hunting rifle; small family of wild boars; huge shapeless beast seen through her sight binoculars, chase off the hunted; running; man shouting, screaming; hiding; dark hole, heavy moldy decay fills her nostrils; ripping sound; hollow last stand; blood, wet, shiny trickles down through the plush cover of vegetation; father dies............dark, long, waiting seems like ages; silent; filthy; despair.

2145-0600 Day Two/Day Three:
Things become quiet as the party settles down for the night, watch rotations come and go and the air is occasionally rent by the screams of local animals hunting and dying but nothing further troubles the Acolytes. A few hours before dawn the party of local hunters packs up their kit and rides off, leaving a dozen bottles of ale and enough meat for the party to have breakfast as thanks for your company.
At 0600 exactly the air is filled with the noise of jet turbines and two Valkyrie assault carriers pop up from there terrain hugging path to land on the other side of your half track. The doors open and you see what are obviously stormtroopers disembark to form a defencive formation around the craft, followed by a large figure carrying a shotgun and the Malleus agent.

Phebia shook her head in aggravation. "Not quite quick enough," she says as she finishes stowing her pack in the truck. She retrieved her carbine from the bed and slung it over her shoulder, the weapon facing forward, its grip inches from her hand. She walks a few meters away from the truck towards the Valkyries and stops, making the Malleus agent come to them.

Karibi staggered to his feet as he woke up with a jolt, quickly smooting his robes down to make himself look somewhat more presentable. He walked over to stand next to Phebia, raising a hand in greeting towards the departing personel.

Haxta remained blissfully asleep, the sound of the engines too much like the turbines and generators of her home ship to properly punch through her sleeping mind.

Wakened by the familiar sound of a Valkyrie throttling down, Milo rose and fastened his vest over his fatigues then donned his helmet. He walked forward to stand by Karibi and Phebia, ostentatiously displaying the Astra Telepathica symbol on his staff. The others noticed his eyes narrow oddly at the sight of the Malleus staff, as if deep in thought or recollection.

"Is there something wrong?" Marco asked the psyker quietly.
Trask roused himself from his reverie. "Hmm? No, nothing's wrong... except for the fact that we don't know who we can trust - if anybody - and the fact that the presence of the Ordo Malleus may possibly indicate that they expect the existence of a daemon here to be a foregone conclusion." Trask tore his gaze from the stormtroopers and turned fully towards Karibi. "I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know, but we are not equipped by any stretch of the imagination to deal with a daemon. If we run into one, these stormtroopers mean nothing. The only thing we can pray for in that event is to die quickly."
Trask turned back to the Malleus agent and concluded, "There are things I need to discuss with this man."

0601 Day Three:
The Agent stops short of your group, Nurk the Ogryn close behind him. As he approaches you can see the calm and polite exterior he exuded in the previous meeting replaced by a hard and unforgiving look, he has shed his nondescript attire in favour of a set of tan fatigues and flak armour much like that of his troopers, a large laspistol holstered at his side. His eyes narrow at the sight of your parties psyker as if he recognizes the man but the look is gone almost as soon as it appears.
He raises a hand in greeting and quickly gets to the matter at hand, "you'll need to accompany us. Things have taken a turn for the worse and I and this world need all the help we can get."

Karibi obediently walked quickly towards the transport, pausing only to grab his rucksack.
"What's happened?" He asked.

"You'll forgive my forwardness, considering the circumstances, Mr. ...?" Milo began. After only a brief pause without getting the agent's name, Trask continued. "As I was just discussing with the esteemed adept here, what exactly are we helping with? Your presence here denotes the daemonic. However, unless every one of those troopers behind you has a psycannon in his hip pocket, our main in hope in confronting a daemon is to not die too slowly.
"We have our own suspicions, obviously," Trask went on, "but is there a chance to prevent this... whatever evil it may be... before it is raised?" Milo stepped forward, lowered his voice, and added, "I would also speak with you privately, about another matter."

Lot clenched her rifle, she was jerked out of slumber by the sound of junky engines, and heavy foot falls. Now she watches the others in her new group being approached by Stormtroopers. She takes aim at the trooper behind the agent glaring at Trask.

Pahr silently signaled Lot to stay her weapon. These Malleus agents could have killed him when they had him captive; he figured they weren't here to cause trouble. His hand remained on the grip of his snub auto, however.

Lot lowers the barrel, still keeping her finger in the trigger well, though.
