I think you just tend to have a a longer fuse and a higher opinion of the human race than some of us. I recall that you took a somewhat dimmer view of the Chakat after he'd deliberately mangled your words while quoting you.Mikey wrote:Yeah, I remember that. IDK if I was a softie in y younger days, or I just took it easy on him because my expectations of intlligence were so low.

It was pretty much the only 'real' contact I had with the nutter, so it stands out a bit for me.

Thanks. I've read some of his other 'work' and it's just... yeah.
I'm glad I wiped the Chakat out.

If I recall, he tried to sneak back in with a different account awhile back, then ranted on his livejournal when he got caught.

That's right. (First time I felt important in my life, Thankyou Rochey Sionnach).
The mods, IIRC, had a massive conflab about whether he was in fact Blackstar. I can't remember the name, but it was something about vengeance or the character involved was about vengeance. It wasn't even obscure. Just the sort of apt, yet pitifully easy to spot kind of bull he would pull. He lasted 3 days then ranted at Graham.

And then he appologized and begged for forgiveness.
And failed at that so started ranting bout Reliant about being a backstabber when he stood up for him each and every time that he spoke and it came out stupid. (By that I mean every time he spoke). At that point he became the anti-Christ for being such an insufferable asshole to the most innocent of the entire forum, and pretty much everyone's friend.

I simply felt a degree of lenience was necessary (And I have never been one for the big debates so stayed fairly clear from it). However, threatening people and then turning on me pretty much guaranteed (in my book) a one way ticket out of DITL.

"Phantom Regiment" or something. I take a modicum of pride in sniffing the bastard out.Reliant121 wrote:That's right. (First time I felt important in my life, ThankyouRocheySionnach).

Phantom Renegade. It requires little explanation. He also made little or no effort to even try disguising his idiosyncracies. Such as "Bow Chicka wow wow" (god I hate that phrase).

For the record, This is the Phantom Regiment. ... I'm pretty sure Blackstar wouldn't be familiar with them And i'd hate to see such an excellent group confused with that. . person..Mikey wrote:"Phantom Regiment" or something. Re: Why'd you join?
I joined the forum for the hell of it, it seemed interesting to me, and I had a slight evangelical side about promoting knowledge about the only Star Trek fan series being made in the Netherlands.
SInce then I've been a bit of a lurker mostly, preferring to see everything unfolding rather than participating in the great debates.
As for Chakats, they can't help but being a group of Mary sues.

Actually, I'm fully aware of who Phantom Regiment is... and back in the day, they were the Chakats of DCI. Crossmen, too. Funny how things change... now, even the Cadets of Bergen County are fallible.Sonic Glitch wrote:For the record, This is the Phantom Regiment. ... I figured you would be. By "chakats" do you mean the perfect Mary-Sue, infallible organization?Mikey wrote:Actually, I'm fully aware of who Phantom Regiment is... and back in the day, they were the Chakats of DCI.
