Actually, the idea of the Typhon Pact is brilliant... Cold War, Part II
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

Re: Destiny Trilogy
I love the idea too... but I just wish the Gorn weren't a part of it. In the EU, they were partr of the Alliance against the Dominion and seemed to be allies of the Federation. I liked that after Cestus III, Kirk's act of mercy would have such good consequences.

There is not a problem in this world that can't be solved without the proper application of a sufficient number of thermonuclear ordnance.
Re: Destiny Trilogy
For some reason, I ALWAYS saw the Gorn as being if not allies, at least good neighbors of the Federation. Everybody used to think I was crazy, because they were big scary looking lizards, thus MUST be bad guys, but I never saw them that way. Hell, for a while, I was even considering making a Gorn character for the Daystrom RP, till I saw once upon a time, somebody else did.

They may look pretty scary, but they're actually a pretty friendly bunch, unless you try invading their territory. That, IIRC, was the whole point of the episode.Mark wrote:For some reason, I ALWAYS saw the Gorn as being if not allies, at least good neighbors of the Federation. Re: Destiny Trilogy
Nope. The Typhon Pact consists of the Romulan Star Empire, the Tzenkethi Coalition, the Breen Confederacy, the Gorn Hegemony, the Holy Order of the Kinshaya and the Tholian Assembly. The Khitomer Accords might consist of the Federation, the Klingon Empire, the Imperial Romulan State, the Ferengi Alliance, the Talarian republic and the Cardassian Union. And only the first two are already part of that group.
That's what I figure, too. And like I said, they were a nominal part of the anti-Dominion forces in the EU. So it makes even less sense for them to join the Typhon Pact!Mark wrote:For some reason, I ALWAYS saw the Gorn as being if not allies, at least good neighbors of the Federation. I wish you had read wrong and the... the Cardassians were part of thr Typhon Pact instead of the Gorn. Or anyone other than the Klingons and Federation.JudgeKing wrote:RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Coalition, the Breen Confederacy, the Gorn Hegemony, the Holy Order of the Kinshaya and the Tholian Assembly. Re: Destiny Trilogy
Well, we know at some point, the Gorn ceded Cestus III to the Federation.

Re: Destiny Trilogy
Actually, I'm not sure what the status of Cestus III is. Might be a joint colony, might not.
Re: Destiny Trilogy
If that is so, you think they have any Gorn players on the colony's baseball teams?
