We did it; a whole series of "Galaxy Wars". Somebody even complained that we were being too militaristic! The Federation won.

I asked my wife last night what she thought Kira's greatest moment was. Her reply, and I quote was
"When she was having the baby" and then mimed a 'gong' action.
Obviously, women have a different perspective on these things

Your right GK, this poll thing IS harder than it looks. All my "bright" ideas have already been done

Since these Captain/First Officer polls seem to have been doing well, why not carry on? Doctors, Engineers, Security, etc.

Don't you think it will get kind of boring before to long though? At one poll a week, and averaging 7 main characters across 5 TV shows, these polls would take the better part of a year to get through.

I have been trying to come up with a Kira moment - definitely a harder task than Spock or Riker. I did like what they did with the character the last four episodes. I thought having her help out the Cardassian resistance was a good way to bring everything full circle. I just wish they would have officially brought Bajor into the Federation and have either Sisko or Ross verify her commission in Starfleet.

If we did a poll on everybody that we have done a full biography on for the site - typically people who have appeared in multiple episodes, from central characters like Kirk through repeated guest characters like Garak and Q, we would have enough for 79 polls. That's 18 months worth.
I'm up for it, because it would save me an awful lot of angsting about what the next poll should be. But I suspect people would get real tired of it after a few months. As it is just doing the captains and XOs will take 12 weeks, with two "poll of polls" included.

Kira/Maritzaa in "Duet" is all I can think of.

I would have liked to see some resolution with Bajor as well, although I would have rather seen her smacked down to middie and told to enroll in the Academy if she wanted to be a SF officer.

You mean the US Navy wouldn''t let an ex-freedom fighter/terrorist take command of a destroyer without going through officer training?

Well, we did let a AWOL-ITOW who was caught with heroine and arrested of federal charges become our C&C so its really not a fair judgement. With as much change as I would run in the UFP, they're still alot smarter then American Gov.
