Rather coincidentally ( ) the Foundation has of late been quite anti-Israel and, more tellingly, pro-groups which his monetary supporters back.

Fair enough, now anti-Israel in what way? Are they saying Israel should be wiped off the map, that they should end the Palestinian aparthied, somewhere in beween?Mikey wrote:Rather coincidentally ( ) the Foundation has of late been quite anti-Israel and, more tellingly, pro-groups which his monetary supporters back.
Re: McCains VP?
Has Obama officially won the nomination, or is it just the prediction? What I mean is, have they counted all of the votes yet?

That wouldn't happen as long as the US government can use them.Cpl Kendall wrote:Fair enough, now anti-Israel in what way? He's got enough deligates but like McCain it won't be official until their party's convinction.stitch626 wrote:Has Obama officially won the nomination, or is it just the prediction? What I mean is, have they counted all of the votes yet?
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Ah ok. Politics confuse the daylights out of me.
I'm gonna make a prediction (just a wild goose). I predict that McCain is goin to win.

As in, decrying Israeli actions of equal intent AND degree as Palestinian actions which he/it has supported. I'm not a big fan of violence in any event; however, I consider it hypocritical to say that an attack on one hand which claims (hypthetically) 15 soldiers and 100 civilians "OK" but a response which claims 100 militants and 15 civilians is "wrong."Cpl Kendall wrote:Fair enough, now anti-Israel in what way? I know most folks consider "Jewish" = "Zionist" but it's not always the case - personally, I wish they would all just shut the hell up; or, failing that, just kill each other on their own, without any outside interference, and let the chips fall where they may.

Or until the extreme xtians decide they don't need them for the rapture.stitch626 wrote:

Re: McCains VP?
I haven't read the relevant parts of the Bible for over a decade, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details but IIRC they require Israel to exist and be populated with Jews.Mikey wrote:

Re: McCains VP?
I've never actually known someone who thought we needed Israel for the rapture. I have my doubts that this is behind our foreign policy.
Anyway the deal with all deligates is that they're free to change their mind. This would be political suicide for a pledged delegate from a state. But with a superdelegate it would just be them changing their mind. Trivially easy if they have some reason, like one of Obamas little comments about people who don't live in urban sprawls.
However this is unlikely. Especially now that all the primaries are done and Obama doesn't have much reason to get in a debate or otherwise say something that could hurt him.
Though she could be trying for a VP spot. Making Obama choose between giving her the nod or having her turn the screws on him for a couple months.

It doesn't have to be an official reason, a large number of Americans support Israel (for whatever reason) so the US government supports Israel. Their certainly not getting anything out of it, it's a major reason why people oppose America in the ME and the world in general.sunnyside wrote:I've never actually known someone who thought we needed Israel for the rapture. Should not a superdelegate (retarded concept anyways) support who the majority of their state supports? Regardless of what they themselves think?Anyway the deal with all deligates is that they're free to change their mind. This would be political suicide for a pledged delegate from a state. Make her the VP, then if she makes an ass out of herself or the administration he can fire her and this issue will be settled for good. However this is unlikely. Edit: BTW: I've never seen an anteater but they exist.
Re: McCains VP?
There was this thing. It was called the cold war. You may have heard of it. Of course that's (hopefully) over. But now they're sort of our crazy Iraqi nuclear reactor popping/war or terror buddies. They also have I believe the second or third most powerful lobby depending on who you ask.Cpl Kendall wrote: It doesn't have to be an official reason, a large number of Americans support Israel (for whatever reason) so the US government supports Israel. No. That's sort of the whole point (a point many people consider retarded granted).Should not a superdelegate (retarded concept anyways) support who the majority of their state supports? Regardless of what they themselves think?
Ah so you're one of those anteater cultists. Why should I believe in something I haven't personally seen? Alright, alright I'm just being facetious. But I haven't even heard this rapture argument outside of you. That doesn't rule out some Jew rapture sect somewhere, but it makes it unlikely that it's the position of a significant portion of the voting populace.Edit: BTW: I've never seen an anteater but they exist.

Re: McCains VP?
Yeah and Israel did sweet bug all for the West then and now it's selling military secrets to China. As for Iraq's reactor, it still would have taken a decade or so for them to do anything with it and the Iran/Iraq War virtually bankrupt Iraq and destroyed their military. And there's the fact that Saddam was a US ally at the time.sunnyside wrote:

Powerful lobby though, that I can agree with.
It really is a system designed by genius's and run by monkeys.No. That's sort of the whole point (a point many people consider retarded granted).
They are out there regardless of what you think, the state of Israel being reborn is a significant sign of the coming rapture. Have you met many xtians that don't want to get into heaven and whatnot? Whether they are a significant portion of the US populace I couldn't say. I do know that over 50% of the country believes in creationism and that sort of thing usually follows with it.Ah so you're one of those anteater cultists. Don't pin that one on us. You guys are the ones with the rapture stuff. We're still waiting for the FIRST coming, remember?Sunnyside wrote:some Jew rapture sect somewhere
Actually, he was an American citizen as well, and had his permanent residence in Monroe Township, New Jersey - he was my parents' neighbor in a little retirement community. No, really.Cpl Kendall wrote:now it's selling military secrets to China.
What have they had to say about waiting since the "significant sign" for the last 60 years?the state of Israel being reborn is a significant sign of the coming rapture.
