A couple of add ons to the proposed battle rules I thought to add.
Each ship class will now have a "weapon facing" cell in the new sheet (which you will get today). Basically you need to select if the ship will have a bias towards forward facing weapons or will have all around coverage. If you select forward facing, like Klingon ships are designed, then you will attack at 150% your rated output on tagets directly in front of your group (ie I can go straight along a line of hexes in the direction of your facing to the target). You will attack at 125% on targets 1 hex off that line to either side.
If you select all around weapons for that class then that ship suffers no penalty on flank attacks and only a 25% penalty on attacks from the rear.
This should give the battles more of a distinct feel. Just be warned that if you mix ships of the two types within your fleet they need to stay in seperate battle groups in the battle or you get no bonus at all. Most fleets should have a distinct feel to them. Almost all Federation designs other than the Defiant are all around types. All Klingon ships and Cardassian ships were forward biased ships.
Also, movement will be in the direction of facing only. So to move in a direction you have to face the group in that direction first.

I had a thought. With the steady marching of time in this game, do we have a system in place that takes into account the hull life of a ship? For example, my Galors are my oldest ships. How long can I run them until they literally fall apart?
Also, are there random losses for those unexplained "problems of the week" that Trek is famous for while exploring?

Also... I'm stupid, where do I go for DITL stats?

This ships profile should have them all here.

Any custom ships should be in emails somewhere. If not I can look them up for you.

I emailed mine in... right?
I can't remember, and half of my emails got deleted recently (in short, I'm a moron).

I am counting on natural attrition to make them useless. Basically the maint. cost becomes so much given the performance that they simply are not worth the trouble anymore. You could in theory keep them around forever though.

News is up. Not much happened this turn* so turn reports will be short and won't tell you much beyond your sheets. Expect those tonight or tomorrow.
*Except that Staplic got a bad die roll and one of his helmsmen directed his main fleet into a blackhole because he was unable to hit the backup button....

It's a joke. In this game your ships almost without exception go where you tell them to go.

I will replace you with a changling and have your character in the sim molest a Border Collie on TV. Then we will see how the next election goes.
