Come on. Its a cheap "hand made" (by mechanical machined hands yes) Taiwanese lump of crap bought in argos. it isn't worth much

I would much rather be teaching than be a collage student... it would certainly cost less.

Nope...its a mountain bike. 3 gears, with 6 subgears to each one. Its a bugger to change and it rattles like a Russian Reactor but it serves a purpose. I wanted a road bike but dad got a cheap one with the thought that if it gets stolen, at least it wont be as financially difficult to get a second one.

Good points, but you'll have a heck of a time once the chain starts falling off regularly.
Try to avoid changing gears too often, and popping over curbs, and it should be fine for a while.

I do. I ride on the road, illegal to do it on pavement for my age I think. I prefer the road anyway. The chavs go on the pavement. It's proving pretty damn tough, its shown me just how bad my circulatory system is. I cycle no more than 2 miles a day, and my legs are on fire, burning with the pressure.

What the hell is a chav again?

Originally it started with "Council Housing And Violence", young teens in council housing or flats with really shit lives that lead them to pretty shitty crimes. Now, its turned into a youth culture thing. Think tracksuits, going in gangs, IQ's of about 40, knives, guns etc. They take exception to any other social "clique" and are violent in their manner.

Dang, beat me to it, Reliant.
Same type of losers I had trouble with in school, mostly because I looked like this:
I still dislike people of that "culture".

Ok, so the US translation would be "wanna be gang bangers", then?

well from the way reliant describes them it would range from the "posers" to "skaters" to "wannabe gang bangers" (yes I know the last two groups are pretty similar) to "actual gangbangers"

Ah our clique systems tend to work in different ways.
Chavs: described
Sporty: similar to chav but not as violent, more sport obsessed. Arrogant of their abilities normally.
Boffin/Nerdy: no explanation needed.
Goth/Emo: hated by everyone for some reason for being different.
Trendy: into latest fashions, often a bit stuck up.
Scene: mixes Emo with fashionable. This is where most of the "gay" guys will be found, or at least feminine. I am probably in this group.
Plastic: Trying to be trendy, very fake or doll like. Speaks in that annoying high OH MAI GAWD way.
Everyone else: Dont fit into a group really.
