Give me an hour or so and you'll have it.

I hope ( :worried: ) to have it done before the night is over. I was at school all day, and for once had no access to the internet (or even a computer). And I don't have enough time to do it right now, I'm waiting for my sis to call from the doctors office so I can pick her up.

Ok, mine is in. Have fun with this one.

That was a nightmare to put back together.

I am going to have turns late tonight for everyone, spreadsheets at least. Intel might be tomorrow.

I did want to take a vote by those who wish to reply on further refining the fleet battle system. But it would necessitate some data input by players for their ships.

We would need each player to compute and enter the following for each ship class.

Shields + Armor (DITL ratings)
Torpedo Rating (DITL Rating)
Beam Rating (DITL Rating)
Combat Manuverability (DITL Rating)

This would allow the results to be more realistic. But for a few of you this is a massive data entry project (ahem...Staplic's horde of ship classes he collects like pokemon cards).

Let me know if this interest any of you.

Sounds interesting to me; how exactly would these factors be used during combat?

Basically damage ratings would now be computed by figuring your attack vs the opponents defense.

If you are firing torpedoes (there are other modifiers for range I won't disclose here) it would be your torpedo rating against the opponents total shield and armor rating.

Torp Rating and Beam Rating are obvious. They are used at the various ranges to determine your attack (inside of 300,000 it is a combination of both).

Shields plus Armor determines your chances against a given roll.

Combat Manuverability determines basically how many movement points a group of ships has each turn. I will determine an average rating in the battle (whatever it is) then assign each group a movement capability above and below that. So if you have highly manuverable ships they might get to move 7 hexes. Normal ships 5. And lumbering ships would move 3.

That is the long and short of it. Still working out the details but the key for me will be to have standardized data entry on a sheet I can rip data off of and plug into a battle sheet I will have to make so that I can get these setup quickly.

Hey, I'd love to get something like that going. It would allow the smaller powers to have a chance against the bigger powers since we couldn't just send 50000 scouts against them and win outright.

Yeah, I agree with Deep; it would change the battle dynamic pretty effectively. I vote yes.

The main reason I did not throw something like this in at the outset is that the initial spreadsheet was enough. I will work on it. No EIS date yet though.

That's cool, man. Take your time; we're in no real rush. :)

You've got DITL calc stats on all of my ships already anyways.
