We've still got a Colossus. A replica, true, but still a Colossus.

That's the first computer I ever had! Followed by a Macintosh Plus. Really, they were my dad's but I messed them up just as if they were my own :)

So, I've gotten rejected from 3 of the 5 doctoral programs I applied to. That leaves the two that I think are easiest to get into. However, at this point I'm pretty pessimistic, because even if I got in, I couldn't afford it. I can only get a doctorate if it's fully paid for. But at this point, I'm pretty colleged out. So part of me says THANK FSM I DON'T HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL ANY MORE.

Uzume wanted me to say hi; she couldn't stay long today. That may change soon enough, though.

What's new in my life... I actually wrote a deal on Friday, then drove our company's entry in Saturday's St. patrick's Day parade in a neighboring town: there were about 250 entries, and about 100,000 spectators - and I didn't have a drop until later in the evening. It was fun, but if I hear one more chorus of either "The Unicorn" or "Goodbye to the English" I think I'll have an aneuryusm.

Plus, got my title today, so I'm officially the owner of my new hooptie. 2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS wagon with only 33,700 miles. You can't find cars with that kind of mileage.

Yeah, I know. We had some issues to work out today, so she didn't have a chance to do more than just browse for a few minutes. :?

Paying for school is a bitch. I'm about to go to my wednesday morning class, last one I have. Only problem is I have a CV due. Well I had been working for my other class so unable to come in and complete it. So no clue what the teacher will say and frankly am a bit dreading it.

This semester has been such a pain in the ass. Earlier I was able to get a class I was suppose to take substituted with a class I already had. Which was great but I shouldn't have needed to do that. The class I was suppose to take is only offered once every two years and only has fifteen seats available. What idiot designs that system?

You lot celebrate St. Patrick's Day over there? Cool.

You got a corker Mikey. Over here, the equivalent of that which was actually completely identical was the Hyundai Lantra Estate. We had a GLS model, and it was probably the best car we had. It survivde being run over by a mechanical digger, and being crashed into by a lorry. Plus, it was pretty comfy too.

As I understand it, far more than you do. From what I'm told, over there it's (at best) celebrated as simply another saint's day, if at all. Over here, it's become a huge celebration of Irish-American culture and a big party day (I sometimes refer to it as "National Barfight and Vomit Day.") Most folks, even the ones not of Irish descent, have a lot of beer (dyed green, of course) and a dinner of corned beef, cabbage, and boiled potatoes. Many municipalities have huge parades involving the local police pipe and drum bands, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, etc.

I take it that's a good thing? Yeah, so far I'm very happy with it. Not luxurious by any stretch, but it runs like a clock. I got a hell of a deal on it, too.
