It makes me want to hurt the bigots who actually believe that they shouldn't be allowed to worship there, because MUSLIMS attacked the WTCs.
I agree with you 100%. While watching the news last night, my wife mentioned that she was against bigotry but could understand why other people felt the way they did about the mosque being built. I responded that therefore, Catholic churches shouldn't be allowed to be built near schools or day-cares, because some priests (even if not THOSE priests) molest little kids.

As it stands, the grounds of the suit are tis: the Muslim group already owns the building. The suit is to name the building an historic landmark, preventing any changes to the building. Funny that nobody cared about this "landmark" before. I hope the people bringing the suit not only get thrown out, but then get held in contempt for trying to dummy up a lawsuit with the intent of perverting the building code.

Or for that matter, set up an Irish pub round the corner from the Arndale Centre.

It's called O'Shea's.

I like Nick's "tear down all the churches" idea.

I agree. Pull down those fancy medieval looking buildings...

Pull them down? Definitely not. Some of them are beautiful to look at (though the modern ones could all be bombed into non-existence as far as I'm concerned). Just convert them into something else. An old church in Dublin has been turned into a nightclub, for example.

That seems to be pretty common - I've known a few bars that clearly started out as churches.

Meh, you see beauty, I see doesn't conform to construction safety codes.

Break'em down and build something better looking in their places. It would do wonders for creating jobs.

Which ones don't? For that matter, I'd rather go with the old cathedrals. Most of them worldwide have been standing for far longer than our modern, up-to-code buildings.

The one a half mile from home. I was talking to a building inspector and he said that if someone submitted blueprints for it, they would be denied. Something about the windows being too close to the corners.

Time to rant.

So, I take my lunch break and decide to run up to the convienience store for a pepsi. Being polite, I ask my co-workers if they want anything. One asks for an ice tea, the other wants dips (little ice cream balls). The last gives me an order like you wouldn't believe. Tuna fish sandwich, two bags of chips, two beefstick, NOS energy drink, candy, gum, yadda yadda.

I go to the store and the total bill comes out to almost $30 bucks. The girl with the ice cream paid for hers and the ice tea. I got two pepsis. The girl with everything pulls out a $100 bill when I get back and asks "Do you have change?" I look at her, and say "Of course not." Her answer..."I'll pay you back when I get change then".
