21:06 - day two

Pahr rubbed his eyes, sighted through the scope again, and saw... nothing.

"Observer, maybe..." he snarled, hopping back down from the halftrack. He kept his rifle at the ready nonetheless, and bent down to retrieve his ration cooker with his free hand. He climbed carefully back onto the roof of the truck and sat, crosslegged, atop the halftrack's canvas top and slurped down the rest of his soup. He turned once to look at the rest of the group before he laid back on his bedroll.

"Sleep lightly."

"No thanks, I already slept. I think I might go hunting." Enrick lite up with a gritted smile.

Pahr nodded and grinned back at Enrick before crossing his arms across his chest and laying back to sleep.

Haxta had gotten to het feet, but made no move to follow after Enrick and Phebia. She was more than a little uneasy at the idea of leaving the side of the half-track, of being totally surrounded by natural wilderness.

2103-2106 Day Two:

The native shrugs at Phebia and Trask's comments, when the Sister sounds the alarm he bounds to his feet. "I see nothing, not mean something not there though", he gives a short command to his friends, who swiftly retrieve their muskets off their mounts and assume a watchful stance.

He turns to Phebia and Enrick, "let us see what hides there." He draws his sabre and heads for the area where Phebia and Pahr had sighted the apparition.

"Yes, some...thing. Man sized, cloaked, it had a greenish glow. He was standing atop that rock outcropping," she said pointing. "It was watching us, but when I cried out it disappeared. I'm going to investigate."

"I saw it too." Karibi said, regathering his wits after the scare. "A humanoid figure in a cloak. The cloak looked as though it were moving of its own accord, and there was a greenish glow coming from beneath the hood."

Enrick clicked his teeth. "Well, if its friendly then it will die politely. If not, it'll die tired."

"You can say you saw whatever you like, but there is nobody around save us," Trask replied. As the hunters went to retrieve their weapons, Milo found a spot behind the hull of the half-track out of their sight. He pressed one hand to his temple and narrowed his eyes.

2106-2115 Day Two:

The native hunter and the members of your party spend several minutes exploring the area but find no sign of life, merely a spot of ooze that is slowly dissolving through the rock.

"Your friend right, nothing here but us. Maybe something here before, not now."

"There was something up there," she said tersely. "Whatever you damned witchcraft tells you, there was something there."

Phebia started off at a trot, hustling to the outcropping. She cautiously started to sweep around it before climbing to the top where she'd seen the figure.

"Well that," Phebia pointed towards the oozing spot, "is not normal. Something was here."

"I'm inclined to agree with her in this instance." Karibi told the psyker. "There are plenty of things that could fool your senses. Or it may simply have been a projection of some sort."

"No doubt that if both the esteemed sister and our assassin both saw something, then there was in fact something to see," Trask muttered to the adept. "However, the fact remains that nobody is here other than ourselves and our hunter companions. I believe we are encountering opposition of a less-than-ordinary kind."

2115 Day 2

Phebia waved Karibi over. "What do you make of this," she asked as she pointed to the oozing spot on the ground.

"Not much, to be perfectly honest." Karibi replied, bending down to get a close look, but being careful not to actualy touch the stuff. "Well, it wasn't a hololithic projection, that's for sure. Warp-craft, I'd wager. Some means of observing us from afar. I'm surprised you didn't detect anything." The Adept added to Trask. After a moment more he stood back up, a distant look on his face.

"You know," He said, half to himself. "the way that apparition looked.....it almost reminded me of....no, of course not." He shook his head, seemingly resolving the issue. "Couldn't have been."
