Navy brew helped me through many a midwatch and underway lookout in the wee hours of the morning.

I've heard some good things about Navy coffee...keeps them sailors awake while they're driving their ships.

But then you've got Army coffee. It's designed to keep you going through a 20K march, and for later use as a chemical weapon.

No Navy Coffee is, can eat the paint off an Aircraft Carrier without even touching the hull.

Lol....Army coffee can not only be used wake up the troops in the morning, but clean out their M-16s as well, desolving that lead and carbon build up better than solvent

As long as they're not 'Nam-era M-16's, which fell apart when you looked at them funny.

Lol....no. Thankfully, they came out with the M-16A2 which corrects MOST of the glaring design fuckups of the original.

Lol. You heard about the Battle of Crapachino? US troops ran out of ammo, and all they had left was coffee. They filled canteens and mess kits with the stuff, and splashed it on the enemy. It disolved the enemies gear, ate through skin, and blistered eyeballs, allowing the Army to win the day.

You guys obviously haven't tried the Sainsburys 'Basics' range ground coffee. It's sold in a 10" thick lead container and painted on it is a big yellow circle with three sort of black triangles inside with a dot in the middle...

Last time I checked, even the latest model is still unreliable crap compared to the L85A2.

Are you folks even still using that thing? I guess you keep lefties out of the army.

Absolutely - we gave it to H&K and said "fix this", so they did. It's got a decent record for reliability now (although you'd better not want to fire around the wrong side of cover).
