To put it simply, we know absolutely nothing about how Vulcans reproduce. All we know is that they've really got to have sex every seven years. We've no idea how often the females are fertile, how long the gestation period is, how long it takes for a Vulcan to grow to an adult, how many kids on average a Vulcan female will have per pregnancy, etc, etc.Mark wrote:To be fair, we don't know at what age Vulcan women are no longer able to bear children. We do know one thing, humans and vulcans can cross breed. Which does suggest vulcans should have something similar to humans, unless of course there was a whole bunch of medical tinkering done to ensure the offspring is born healthy.

With access to advanced gene therapies it might be possible in the future to have a much smaller minimum viable population if you can weed out some of the abnormalities in utero.
