I agree with Teaosin one topic, and you all act like its the end of the world!

Hi, guys! Kinda new here, but I just had to come when I saw the topic. I, like many of you here, like more than one ship because certain classes of ship fall into different categories, as all are aware. But I ADORE the Nebula class ships for their multi-role capability. They do it all: If you're on a science mission, outfit it with a sensor pod. If you're cannon fodder...uh, I mean, if you're on the front line of a battle, outfit it with a weapons pod. If they made a ship like that to compliment the Sov's, now THAT would be a ship to be reckoned with.

Indeed, the adaptability of that vessel is quite good.
And welcome to DITL, enjoy your stay.

Close tie between a Defiant and a Galaxy....and a Miranda.
Ah, whatever; I'll go with the Galaxy....but just because of the cushy Bridge seats.

I would take a Steamrunner class on some sort of defensive mission, be it colony/border patrol or support flights for capitol ships in Dominion War fleet actions.
Small ship, agile, sleek, and reasonably well-armed. I never bought the line that the Steamrunner was a decades-old precursor to the Galaxy. She looks more in line with the design era of the Sovereign and Prometheus classes, thus I think she'd be more "modern" than DITL specs would place her at. (No offense, Graham.)

I agree with about the Steamrunner. While I don't think it has the design features to be the most modern generation of ships, I always thought the compact, integrated design and angular features would mean it was very well protected and maneuverable.

I think starfleet has pretty much two different base line designs. The Soverign and Galaxy type with a sauser and naccels on a pylon and the more intergrater Steamrunner and Akira. Maybe the intergrated hull doesn't work so well on bigger designs but on small ones it adds to its agility.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.
