Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
Do you think they went through the trouble of designing more or less accurate blueprints? I mean I hope so but somehow I doubt they went through that much trouble to satisfy a minority of people interested into the exact amount of decks etc.
Also if the 700metres are accurate I find it kind of ironic that this enterprise would be also the largest ship ever built by starfleet. Altough I would love to see a GCS from that timeline

I don't know. But I wouldn't be at all surprised. The series are done on a far lower budget and a far tighter timescale, and it's not unusual that they put such thought into things there.Atekimogus wrote:Do you think they went through the trouble of designing more or less accurate blueprints? Indeed. I would imagine it would be in the region of 1,500 metres long. Also if the 700metres are accurate I find it kind of ironic that this enterprise would be also the largest ship ever built by starfleet. Altough I would love to see a GCS from that timeline

Forget the Galaxy......I want to see the new Sovereign class.
Just a thought, do you suppose "those" ships will ever be built now?

I think the butterfly effect would end up making starship development substantially different.

Agreed. They might end up with something like the Defiant a bit sooner, though.Lazar wrote:I think the butterfly effect would end up making starship development substantially different.
There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939

Or a "decent" GCS? or would that be too much to hope for?

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
Given that the nEnterprise appears already to be a good bit larger than normal, probably due to the destruction of the Kelvin, I'd imagine that ships would continue to be larger and more militarily orientated.
Hell, maybe that one guy's 16KM E-E isn't too far off in the new universe.

There's no need to rush them, lest we wind up with another "the Executor is 19km long! No it's 8! No it's 5!"LaughingCheese wrote:There hasn't been any news yet on tech books or anything.

I'm sure we'll see a tech manual soon enough, or better yet...an ICS.

Re: Stats/Information on the new Enterprise
Lucasarts/films started putting out books called Incredible Cross Sections, containing ships and vehicles from the SW OT/PT. They have some nice art, cross sections and figures on firepower, acceleration etc.LaughingCheese wrote:
