Re: Destiny Trilogy
Better still, post it here as a mini-text spoiler. I wanna know too!
Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...
Re: Destiny Trilogy
Fair enough, here it goes.
In a nutshell, we learn that the Borg were created when some of the stranded crew of the NX-02 were thown back several thousand years with a uber powerful pacifist techno race called the caelear (spelling?). Most of the aliens were destroyed, but Captain Hernendez and a landing party were split up, Hernendez and a few flying back around 800 years, all the others getting tossed back about 5000 years. It turns out, that when the aliens began starving, one alien, a female "bonded" with the last surviving man and woman. In other words, assimilating them. Hence were the Borg created. Captain Hernendez underwent a procedure in which alien "catoms" were placed into her body, granting her eternal youth and powers, but, since these were the original version of the Borg nano probes, she can hear the collective.
In the end, the aliens destroy the "collective" which is the over "spirit" of the insane alien, and assimilate all the drones for pacifistic pursuits.

There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939
Re: Destiny Trilogy
Bottom line........the Borg as such, do not exist ANYWHERE anymore. Borg are completely gone now. Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta quadrants are completely Borg free zones.
I skipped ALOT of the story, but in a nutshell, that's what happens.
Oh, and Starfleet suffered a 40% overall loss of it's fleet.

-Starfleet Security personnel manage to depopulate a Borg Scout ship using TR-116s.
There is not a problem in this world that can't be solved without the proper application of a sufficient number of thermonuclear ordnance.
