"The Departed".

I like all the actors in that movie, and yet, I wasn't able to get interested, even after a half hour of viewing...

:grave:

Lord of the Rings
Titanic
and (don't hurt me)
The Godfather

Aye, the Godfather is over-exagerated, I think. It's good, but not great, IMO.

Heartily second Titanic. About two hours into the movie I was thinking "Jesus Christ, will this fucking ship just sink already?"

With Jack still on it...

I agree that the movie was more style then substance.
It would've been better had they approached it in a "documentary-style".

Well Leo and Kate were kind of responsible for it sinking, the lookout was so busy watching them snogging he didn't notice the iceburg.

Hated the film also. I loved the first two LOTR films, but they ruined the third - they cut out the scouring of the Shire. The whole moral of the LOTR stories for me was that you can never go home again.

The Godfathers amongst my fave films, but I know a fair few people who couldn't get into it.

Agreed on Fellowship, and about the Scouring of the Shire, but Jackson fucked the second film as well. He seriously messed up Theoden's character by having him run away to Helm's Deep rather than simply diverting there to draw Sauruman's army after him. Plus there was all that nonsense surrounding Aragorn. And he treated Faramir abominally. :x

And the sheer amount of screentime given to Liv frickin' Tyler. Seriously, did anyone give a damn about that subplot?

Umm... no. I couldn't (and still can't) think of any possible reason why they changed the role of Luthien Tinuviel for the movie at all. To have her still be the princess of Rivendell, yet also fill Glorfindel's role in the first film, was abominable. Her over-presence also minimized the difference between Elrond's house and the Galadriel, queen of the Noldor.

Jeez, I must have read the LOTR books half a dozen times but I can't recall most of these differences between the films and the books. My memory works as well as it plays games with me, and vice versa. If ignorance is bliss perhaps then I was able to really enjoy the films without recalling these nits. :?

Everything Peter Jackson has ever touched. I'm sorry, but fark the LotR. Overhyped bunch of nonsense if you ask me. After that, "The Usual Suspects" and "Boondock Saints" get on my shytlist.

I'll personally stick up for Titanic, oddly.

I think you're the first person I've met who didn't like The Usual Suspects.

Fellowship was all right - it was the last two that really got a raw deal.

And The Usual Suspects was excellent. :)

2001: A Space odyssey. I have never been able to sit through the entire sfx sequence where he goes through the tunnel. Heck, I find the entire movie to be bland, boring and pretentious.

I never got that at all, but I guess you have to go into it expecting to see a typical Kubrick attitude.
