Gambling, prostitution, and excessive substance abuse all in one government-taxed cesspool! Yay!

Seriously, I hate Vegas. :?
Actually prostitution is illigal in the city of Vegas itself, however the city borders with other citys where it is legal, hence why people think it is legal. It's amazing what you learn from Cabbies.

But doesn't it just ring America to you? Its personal freedoms gone very, very wrong.

Well, what part do you dislike: the gambling? I have no issue with that, myself. The prostitution? I don't partake, but that's all over (whether sanctioned or not.) The excessive substance abuse? Aside from alcohol, that's no more legal there than anywhere else.

I think its about the excess of all of these things. There are people who are starving not only in the world, but in the US itself and people go out and blow millions of dollars on gambling etc...

Actually, I have no problem with any of those things being legal; I just dislike all of them.

Not to mention that Vegas is one of the epicenters of the Grieco Virus.

But none of those things are peculiar to Las Vegas.

True, maybe its easier to blame the faults of a country on one city :D

well, back to rochey's question about us all moving to the same place, I think it would work better than the orrigional idea... stregnth in numbers. Hence why me, Monroe, Kendall and Striker all said we'd move toward the GL where we'd be able to possably unite.

As for practicality, I know a little, but I think that an understanding of theory, and the fucktonne (thanks for that word Rochey...sounds so much better than the shitload) of practice we'd have I think we could survive and create the DITL Empire.

Actually, I was just kidding - I think we'd do alright (for a bunch of modern, sedentary bastards.) We have a fair number of ex-military men here, whose training must include some bit of survivalism.

Brilliant! We'll go so fast we'll go forward in time to the present!

I don't see much difference really. What would be able to do with the existing infrastructure beyond merely living, assuming we can get clean water and don't die of disease do any of us have the skills required to make a forge and craft metal tools (for example)?
I can do the smithy thing. It's pretty easy to build a kiln and forge, we'd just need to find some ore to smelt.

I'm guessing there would be about two dozen of us all up.

We'd need hunters, builders, people to domestic stuff (cloths ect).

I'm not sure if many other people here have a hands on trade. The only people that spring to mind are Kendall and I, maybe Mark since he was in the army.

I figure if I can survive on the beach in a tent during a tropical storm, I'd do fine in calm weather in a forest, or what have you.

I can build shelters, I can sew, and I'm fairly knowledgeable about what not to eat.

Teaos - back then in that area, silver at least was common enough to tap huge veins* without much more than a pickaxe.
