But the area around Earth that a warp-limited ship can explore should be very familiar stuff that is old game in the 24th century.

I seem to recall TOS Enterprise normally pushing the limits of exploration, and TNG Enterprise not exactly hanging around the Core Worlds too much either.

I agree, I just think if they were going to insist on creating all original new stuff they shoudln't have done a prequel. A prequel takes far more dedication to continuity than a new series taking place in the "present."

That's been my point all along. Even with someone like Coto, the possibility for accidentally crapping on the established universe existed; with folks who didn't care - like B&B - it was almost a foregone conclusion.

Meh. I still liked the show. And wanted it to continue.

EDIT:

And every ST series had some continuity errors, not just ENT. And ENT did a good job and even fixed some errors. Klingon foreheads, after all.

That didn't really need fixing - all it required was an assumption of more than one form of life native to Kronos. The different appearences of those encountered by Starfleet can be explained as variations in the balance of power between the two species, with overlaps such as Kor being explained as cosmetic surgery allowing them to fit into the new order of Klingon society better.

It maybe didn't need fixing, but the fix was excellently done, IMHO. For me, however, that doesn't make up for two years of interacting with species that somehow had already been established as "previously unknown" three hundred years in the future.

Absolutely - I shudder to think what would have happened if B&B had done that arc.

Personnaly, I'd prefer to believe that the first two years of Enterprise never happened. In-universe, we can think of some solution along the lines that the "reset" in Storm Front depicted a jump from the S1-3 universe to the main Trek universe, much as happened when the E-C returned through the rift in "Yesterday's Enterprise", or when Janeway destroyed the timeship in "Year of Hell".

I guess that helps, but I still let out a few "WTF's" while I was watching those things occur.

I know we've disagreed on a lot of points but I never would have expected this from you...

Did you just claim the super, cloaked, hologrammed, Romulan ship was a GOOD thing?

Wow, major plot twist.

That should've been revealed to be a result of the Temperal Cold War or something. It was too advanced with the auto-repair technology.

Enterprise just fails out right.

Sure Voyager had its moment like threshold were it just went nuts but in general it never had moments that just made you go, "WTF are they doing to canon?"

The things like polarised hull plating, phasers, teleporter, VASTLY screwed up speeds, super species that appear out of no where, time travel.

These were not one off things. These ran through the whole show and instantly ruined any possibility of it ever being true trek.

Agreed. We never saw 24th century ships doing aerobatics like the drone did. One would think that the Romulans would've followed up on tech like that in the future, but when did we see a Warbird looping around incoming fire? Never. Another example of the " we really couldn't care less" attitude that dominated Enterprise, and overshadowed some excellent performances on what otherwise would've been a great show.

You're right. And what's really annoying is the fact that most of these issues could have been avoided with just a little bit of thoughtfulness and concern.

Exactly.

Why not ue lasers instead of phasers. It probably would have added to the story not taken away.

The teleporter was almost never used so thats no loss.

Hull plating is just idiotic.

Xindi and Suliban are totally stupid. Should have replaced them with other story arcs.

Romulan drone ship.... NO!!!!!!!
