I have to wait till 17. Probably 18 as the law is on its way to being changed.

the current latest in my life is:

i bought a pizza. it was yummy. it had bbq sauce, cajun chicken, and pepperoni. yay:)

You need to be 18 to either drive, vote or drink over here.
Of course, no one really pays much heed to the drinking age limit.

here you can get a learners permit (drive w/ parents) at 14, licence at 16. voting/smoking you can do at 18, but drinking at 21.

but this is america so you will find 10 year old drunks with three packs of cigarettes (I know I spelled that wrong) behind the wheel of a car he just rammed into a tree.

The learners permit, is what we call a "Provisional licence". Still need to be 17 to get it.

Hawaii is friggin' weird. It doesn't always adhere to US mainland federal guidelines. It WAS 14 to get a permit and 15 to get a license, but I think they made it 18 now. Who knows? I avoid the DMV more avidly than I do STDs for God sake!!!!!

We went there a few years ago. The east is a good place to hang out in bars. It's worth a trip up the television tower in the east. If you go at night you get to see all the lights. What out for pic pockets at the top, we had a brolly nicked while up there.

The remains of the wall, Checkpoint Charley and the Bundestag (next to the Brandenburg gate) are worth seeing. You can go up onto the roof of the Bundestag and look down into the chamber and see the government in action. There's a long queue to get in but it was worth it. We where there on the aniversary of reunification and they had a big party around the Brandenburg gate, loads of sausage and beer

When I went to get my learners permit, I had to have my birth certificat, social security card, and an alternate form of ID (school ID) just to walk in the front door. Not ten minutes later two 10 year-old gang wanna-be's walk in off the street, no one stops or askes them anything, they just walk in walk up to the counter to harass one of the workers appearently, then left.

Plus the entire place made you want to call the nearest SWAT team into action.

And thus went another adventure at the DMV

That reminds me of the time I went with my buddy, whose name WAS Buddy to his family farm in Oklahoma, when we were in the Army. We got to his house, with included the obligitory drunken uncle with a jar of homemade moonshine on the poarch. Buddy introduced me as being from Vegas, but his dad took one look at me and say'd "You was born a Yankee, ain't ya?" How he knew that from looking at me, I'll never know.
