Yech. The fuel savings is way overrated - you must own a hybrid vehicle for approximately 7 years minimum to break even on fuel savings with the extra cost of buying a hybrid (and that's compared to American cars!) but of course, after seven years, you're probably due for a few thousand dollars' worth of new nickel hydride batteries. Besides, in the Prius in particular, the vehicle shuts off the engine when stopped (at a sign, or traffic light, or what have you.) Many two-mode hybrids do this, but the Prius seems to have a longer lag than most to getting back up when you step on the gas. Maybe that was just the one example I drove, but I didn't like it at all.Reliant121 wrote:God German is complicated...

Im moving back up north and going to find a job where i used to live.
To be honest, despite the seeming futility i might try and find a job in car sales, its something I'd be good at, and Mikey can make me his grasshopper, LOL.
It's all good now, I ordered pizza hut delivery and guzzled some gold finch, happy days.

that's to bad MetalHead, hope everything works out.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

So, at least in Berlin, it really does mean 'I am a berliner'?Captain Seafort wrote:Nope. The grammar would be wrong almost everywhere else in the country, but for Berlin it's correct.me,myself and I wrote:Warning: Ich bin ein Berliner = (roughly) I am a jelly donut. So i'd avoid that phrase.

MetalHead - don't go into car sales. It sucks. You can waste your time with some knucklehead while there are real customers walking by, you can run into roadblocks because of facotry programs, idiot managers, etc., etc. It can be lucrative, but it can also be crap - there's no consistency. The worst part is, you can do everything right and still not make a deal because of any number of factors outside your control. Don't get me wrong - I've made upwards of $1500 or more on one deal, but I've also gone weeks with no paycheck.

If you want to get into something with cars..........get into the service department. I'm glad I listened to the advice of the DITLers. It's rough some days, but you can't beat hourly PLUS incentives PLUS Spiffs (bonuses). And in a couple of years I can work toward being an advisor. Those guys get a piece of every repair they book, PLUS a fat hourly wage.

I'm off an another working holiday in about 12 hours, so I wont be around much/at all the next week.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Dad is aiming to have it for a while, but I can see where your going.
The other advantage of the Fusion earlier is that it *MIGHT* be a possible first car for me. Or we can work a deal where I get the Fusion on a Weekend or in the evenings. If i get insurance with something like Admiral, then I still build up no-claims even if i'm on a joint insurance. I dont have to buy car, and save a lot of money. besides, buses are adequate transport for College. University is different. I dont want to go to Portsmouth, Dad did a course there and it was pretty poor. I would *like* to go to winchester. But with that distance, I would need a car of my own probably.

I've never considered this before: What is the minimum driving age in your countries?
Here, it's 16.
Also, new pictures in the members photos and Admins/Mods threads for me and Uzume.

Yes. Yes it does.
And, people as young as 12 can drive here, with special permits. I don't know how it is in other states.
EDIT: BTW, that is my natural hair color in the new pic I posted. My goatee as well...
