We were meeting to draft the UN charter.
We ended up making some changes, like increasing the power of the GA and requiring 2 permanent members for a veto.
How was the conference?
It was a really good experience. (This was actually my first year doing MUN, because they didn't have it at my high school.) There were around 40 countries represented, and I got to meet cool people from all over the world. The most dominant teams were Yale (France), Penn (Russia), U of C (China) and United Netherlands (US); the Venezuelan teams would have been big too, but most of them stayed back to vote in a referendum. My school represented Egypt and Syria, and we won a few awards. (I should note that France, Russia and the US were all quite attractive in my committee, so that helped. 8))

Warning: Ich bin ein Berliner = (roughly) I am a jelly donut. So i'd avoid that phrase.

"Komment sie bitte unt listen to Kraftwerk mit mir" will usually endear you to fans of the German pop group 'Kraftwerk'?

I sealed my fate at work today. Sparing myself the shame of it and sparing my employer the embarrassment of it, i'm going to resign tommorow. Bad, bad day!

Selbst preferiere ich Welle Erdball. Ebensodoch, vielen Dank.

Nope. The grammar would be wrong almost everywhere else in the country, but for Berlin it's correct.

Yes, in "proper" German, JFK said, "I am a berliner," not "I am a Berliner." However, as Seafort notes, he got it right purely by accident by dint of the town in which he was speaking.
Anyway, I love Kraftwerk.

Or because he did his research - this isn't Bush we're talking about.
