No need to upgrade the EMH. In fact, an EMH mark I would be the best. Provide some comic relief when Dr. Holmes and EMH decide to get into it. Holmes would likely humiliate a Mark II, and the Mark III and beyond most likely have better "manners" so they wouldn't argue with him to much.
Maybe the EMFH could be a Mark 1 that's more energy efficient since the program wouldn't be as complex.

I can live with that..........To be perfectly honest, it doesn't really matter to me to much. As we have a pretty fleshed out medical staff, I don't see the EMH getting used to often, aside from assisting in times of heavy casualties or just for Holmes to mess with (RP purposes).

I just have this sceen in my head of Dr. House (on which the character is mostly based) going head to head with The Doctor. Something like,

Doctor: "You have the bedside manners of a Salem witch-hunter"
House: "Well, that's the pot calling the kettle black, and just hurtful."
Doctor:"You sir, are an egotistical snob."
House: :::smiling snidely::: "Sticks and Stones. Oh, and by the way, your an idiot."
Doctor:"I am programed with the combined knowledge of several million of the Federations finest physicians"
House: "And yet your still a moron. By the way, if they gave you all that programing, why didn't anybody think to give you any hair?"

Entertaining if nothing else, huh?

Hey my new char Leo is on the Daystrom and is hot. He just happens to be straight that's all.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

lol. While an EMH might not be needed on Daystrom an EMFH could be useful for those times when the Doctors and nurses are too busy to help planetside or something. Or if we don't need holo-doctors on Daystrom I guess I could use one on the Pegasus as we'd have a small crew to begin with. 80 is the normal crew if I remember correctly for the Nova-class.

This is just an idea that I've had for awhile. Tell me what you guys think. If holo-emitters all over the ship becoming standard, what are your thoughts about a holographic security force designed to assist in repelling boarders. They would have the advantage of being instantly activated and in place, , either by the computer when it detects intruders, or my the tac officer, and could be projected THREW forcefields restricting enemy movement. They could minimize response time, and hold until reinforcements arrive. They'd be mostly invulnerable to weapons fire, unless the baddies were smart enough to start blasting the holo-emitters, which could always be given a little protection, like forcefields or something.

Just a brainstorm

The idea is possilbe but I'm not sure star fleet would go for it. They dont really like handing signifigant power over to computers.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

The simplest ways to deal with boarding parties are to trap them behind forcefields, remove the atmosphere, or beam them into space. Why do they always make such a big deal of having the ship's XO and chief of security to go into a bog standard firefight, when clearly 5 intruders aren't going to take over the ship! [Borg excepted]

Well, Lt. Mark, the Paladin's Tac and Sec Chief has been created to be quite hot. The catch is he is a human raised by Vulcans on Vulcan, and has no idea whatsoever that he IS hot.

I can never just keep things simple.

Actually, we did that prison break thing pretty well, I thought.

Anyway, the EMH (or EMFH - what's the "F?") is going to be rarely used, unless Mark goes and kills off all his own characters. He's the doc, let him make it what he wants.

:::in character as Dr. Holmes:::

Great. Now I have to babysit a moronic computer. As if I don't have enough to do. Well, let's get this over with. Computer, activate ALL EMH's mark I-VI.
:::holograms appear:::
Chorus "Please state the nature of the medical emergency"
Your all idiots. Is there any cure for that?
EMH4 "Idiocy cannot be cured."
Computer, delete the EMH modal 4 :::hologram shimmers and vanishes:::
Now, I need one of you over inflated video games as much as I need a papsmear, so.......
EMH3 "Sir, I assure you that a papsmear would do you no good whatsoever"
Moron. Computer, delete EMH modal 3 :::hologram shimmers and vanishes:::
Now, where were we?
:::EMH 6 opens tricorder and begans scanning Dr. Holmes:::
What the hell are you doing?
EMH 6 "Short term memory loss can be indicitive of any number of problems"
My, my...aren't we just the industrious little one. Computer, delete
EMH 6 "Wait! What did I do wrong?"
You think your smarter than me. And your wrong.
EMH 6 "But there is no need to feel inferior, I'm programmed to be a superior...."
Jackass. I know. Computer, delete EMH 6 :::hologram shimmers and vanishes:::
:::stops and looks at EMH 1:::
What's your problem?
EMH 1 "I think this is a complete waste of time. I'm a doctor, not auditioning for A Chourus Line."
I like him. He stays.
:::stops and looks at EMH 5:::
When did they start making female EMHs?
EMH 5 "6 years, 7 months, 24 days ago"
Why did they have to make you so ugly?
EMH 5 "They didn't want to distract the male staff from their duties"
I like being distracted. What would say if I said I'm going to reprogram your physical specifications?
EMH 5 "I'd say to shave off about 30 pounds and to increase by breast size"
Your hired.
EMH 2 "Hey, that's not fair. I'll let you reprogram me too!"
Sorry, your not my type. Computer, delete EMH 2. :::hologram shimmers and vanishes:::
Captain, I'll take these two.

The F is for Field, the Emergency Medical Field Hologram. Like how I created that mobile holo-emitter thing(a larger 24th century equivilent to Voyager's Doctor's 29th century Mobile emitter) for the Daystrom's original EMH(before Talora stole her/hir/he). Basically an improved version of that system that allows an EMH to reach areas without holo-emitters, like on the ship or on the surface of a planet, possibly making the Mobile Emitter system standard equipment on shuttlecraft, so that medical personel don't have to tag-along on missions. It's a logical evolution of the technology.
